The Aide/Tech II (Behavioral Health) delivers direct patient care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, performing tasks that do not require nursing judgments or administration of medications. Duties include assisting patients with ADLs, obtaining vital signs, completing safety checks, ensuring unit cleanliness and stock, and monitoring patients and visitors. The role involves performing delegated tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, blood glucose testing, assisting with patient transfers, and administrative tasks. Additional responsibilities include promoting patient and self-safety, early identification and de-escalation of escalating behaviors, promoting a restraint-free environment, and assisting with emergency safety situations including restraint application, seclusion, Code G/Code M responses, and 1:1 Safety watches. The position is accountable for patient care delivered and adheres to St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center standards of care and practice.
