About The Position

This position assists the teacher with instructional needs as appropriate. The aide will help with the preparation, implementation, and data collection of student academic, behavioral, and functional goals, accommodations, modifications, and delivery of supports. The aide will deliver accommodations, modifications, and other supports to students with special education services in whole group, small group, or individually, as described in the IEP. Additionally, the aide will assist teachers with classroom management and behavioral plans, maintain confidential student records, perform other duties as assigned, and handle other SHARS duties as assigned. The role also includes providing personal care as identified in applicable student IEPs.

Requirements

  • College hours for Title I campus 48 required or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test
  • College hours, high school diploma or GED for Non-Title I campus
  • Communicate and work with students
  • Maintain effective working relationships
  • Minimum clerical skills
  • Good physical and emotional condition
  • Work with confidential material
  • Paraprofessional aide certificate required once employed
  • Additional Qualification for Title I Campus: College hours, 48 minimum or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test
