About The Position

This position assists the teacher with instructional needs as appropriate. The aide will support the preparation, implementation, and data collection of student academic, behavioral, and functional goals, accommodations, modifications, and delivery of supports. They will deliver accommodations, modifications, and other supports to students with special education services in various group settings or individually, as described in the IEP. The aide will also assist with classroom management and behavioral plans, maintain confidential student records, perform other assigned duties, and provide personal care as identified in applicable student IEPs. Additional SHARS duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bilingual may be required for respective positions
  • College hours for Title I campus 48 required or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test
  • College hours 15 or high school diploma or GED (with a passing score of 464 on the ParaPro test) for Non-Title I campus
  • Communicate and work with students
  • Maintain effective working relationships
  • Minimum clerical skills
  • Good physical and emotional condition
  • Work with confidential material
  • Paraprofessional Educational Aide II certificate required once employed

  • Additional Qualification for Title I Campus: College hours, 48 minimum or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test
