About The Position

This position is responsible for managing the In-School Suspension (ISS) program, ensuring students maintain discipline and complete academic work. The aide will supervise students, maintain records, and collaborate with teachers and administrators to create a controlled learning environment.

Requirements

  • College hours for Title I campus 48 required or 464 on the ParaPro test
  • College hours, high school diploma or GED for Non-Title I campus
  • Proficient keyboarding, word processing, and file maintenance skills
  • Ability to maintain strict discipline
  • Maintain an effective working environment
  • Communicate and work with students
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience in working with students
  • Valid Texas educational aide certificate
  • Maintain emotional control under stress

Nice To Haves

  • Additional Qualification for Title I Campus College hours, 48 minimum or score of 464 on the ParaPro test

Responsibilities

  • Keep attendance and records of students entering and leaving the campus ISS.
  • Supervise students’ work which includes administering tests and tutoring, as needed.
  • Oversee character education activities as prescribed by campus administration.
  • Maintain strict discipline in order to provide students with a strictly controlled atmosphere for learning.
  • Assist in obtaining assignments from teachers and delivering student work to teachers.
  • Attend all faculty and in-service meetings.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student membership in ISS.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
