About The Position

The Aide, Extended Care is responsible for providing a safe, welcoming, and structured environment for students participating in the school's extended care program. This part-time position supervises students before and/or after school, assists with homework, facilitates age-appropriate recreational and enrichment activities, and promotes a positive environment where students feel safe, respected, supported, and valued. The Aide, Extended Care works collaboratively with school staff and families to support the mission and values of Catholic education while promoting the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of each student.

Requirements

Provide a safe, welcoming, and structured environment for students.
Supervise students before and/or after school.
Assist with homework.
Facilitate age-appropriate recreational and enrichment activities.
Promote a positive environment where students feel safe, respected, supported, and valued.
Collaborate with school staff and families.
Support the mission and values of Catholic education.
Promote academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of students.
Maintain accurate attendance records.
Complete required program documentation.
Assist with setup, organization, and cleanup of activities, supplies, and equipment.
Monitor program materials and notify appropriate staff of needs.
Follow all school policies, procedures, and extended care program guidelines.
Communicate professionally and courteously with parents, guardians, teachers, school staff, and administrators.
Share relevant student information with appropriate personnel.
Work cooperatively with other extended care staff.
Promptly report behavioral concerns, injuries, accidents, safety hazards, or maintenance issues.
Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding students and families.
Submit to pre-employment screening including criminal background check, Family Care Safety Registration, drug screen, employment and educational licensure/certification verification, and health screening.

Responsibilities

Supervise students throughout the extended care program to ensure their safety, security, and well-being.
Maintain a structured, positive, respectful, and nurturing environment that encourages appropriate student behavior.
Follow established student check-in, attendance, and dismissal procedures.
Monitor students during indoor and outdoor activities, transitions, meals, and other program activities.
Maintain appropriate supervision and awareness of student needs at all times.
Respond appropriately to student concerns and seek assistance when necessary.
Assist students with homework and encourage positive study habits and academic responsibility.
Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate recreational, educational, creative, and enrichment activities.
Encourage positive peer interactions and help students develop communication, problem-solving, cooperation, and conflict-resolution skills.
Foster an inclusive environment in which all students feel welcomed, respected, and supported.
Encourage students to demonstrate kindness, responsibility, respect, and good citizenship.
Maintain accurate attendance records and complete other required program documentation.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming extended care environment.
Assist with the setup, organization, and cleanup of activities, supplies, and equipment.
Monitor program materials and notify the appropriate staff of needed supplies, repairs, or maintenance concerns.
Follow all school policies, procedures, and extended care program guidelines.
Communicate professionally and courteously with parents, guardians, teachers, school staff, and administrators.
Share relevant information regarding student needs, concerns, behavior, or incidents with the appropriate personnel.
Work cooperatively with other extended care staff to ensure consistent supervision and smooth daily operations.
Promptly report behavioral concerns, injuries, accidents, safety hazards, or maintenance issues to the Extended Care Coordinator or Principal.
Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding students and families.
