About The Position

The Aide, Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Unique Needs, position is grant- funded and based on the needs of individual students and/or classrooms. In the event of a unit loss midyear or reassignment of the unit, the employee will receive proper notice to allow for a transfer into another position. The Aide, Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Unique Needs, will assist school staff in the care and management of students with disabilities while at school under the direction and supervision of an immediate supervisor/supervising teacher, who evaluates performance through observation of work, critiques, and/or records and reports. DISTRICT EXPECTATIONS: All district employees are expected to: · Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance. Physical presence is expected as part of a reliable and predictable pattern of attendance. · Support the district’s vision, mission, goals, and Strategic Plan. · Engage in civility, respect, and professionalism. · Maintain the professional knowledge and skills necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of their positions.

Requirements

  • Reads and comprehends simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Writes simple correspondence.
  • Effectively presents information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Adds and subtracts two-digit numbers and multiplies and divides with 10s and 100s.
  • Performs these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Applies understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Deals with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of increasingly responsible experience in education, child care, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to the daily schedule and assignments.
  • Assists students with any personal hygiene needs (e.g., toileting, diapering, dressing), as directed by the teacher.
  • Assists with implementing classroom and/or individual behavior management systems.
  • Provides for the care, well-being, and supervision of students with disabilities under the direction of the teacher.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned.
