About The Position

About Prolific Prolific is not just another player in the AI space – we are building the biggest pool of quality human data in the world. Over 35,000 AI developers, researchers, and organizations use Prolific to gather data from paid study participants with a wide variety of experiences, knowledge, and skills. The role We are seeking Professional Graphic and Visual Designers to act as Domain Experts for a high-level AI evaluation project for $30p/h. AI models are evolving beyond simple image generation and now tackle complex design tasks such as layout, typography, and information density. We need experts who can see beyond "pretty pictures" to judge the professional utility, readability, and structural integrity of design outputs. This is a flexible, ad hoc project where your professional eye directly influences how AI understands design principles.

Requirements

  • Professional design credentials: You must have a formal education in Graphic/Visual Design plus at least 1 year of professional experience OR 5+ years of high-level experience working with professional clients.
  • Technical literacy: You must be familiar with the industry-standard stack (Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator). While you won’t be designing these tools for this task, you must be comfortable with the concepts and terminology associated with them.
  • A critical eye: You can distinguish between "consumer-grade" and "enterprise-ready" content, ensuring outputs are professional and highly readable.
  • Portfolio: A valid link to your portfolio or work samples is required during the screening process.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Interaction Design or Motion Graphics.
  • A background in Brand Building, Advertising, or Marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Side-by-side preferences: Evaluate two candidate designs (e.g., Google Slides, posters, or advertisements) on the same topic and determine which better meets professional standards.
  • Expert analysis: Judge candidates based on specific design dimensions, including readability, text density, information hierarchy, and overall professionalism.
  • Edit-Request verification: Review "before and after" style tasks to determine which AI output better satisfied a specific design edit or change request.
  • Experimental tasks: Take part in new, narrow tasks aimed at refining how AI handles concise visual communication.
