About The Position

TripleTen is seeking an experienced AI Systems Engineering Instructor to bring their curriculum to life for students. This role involves hosting live sessions, reviewing student work, running architecture review boards, and setting the technical standard for supporting instructors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and shipping scalable systems, a clear understanding of good architecture, and the ability to provide constructive feedback to experienced engineers transitioning into system architecture roles. The program is async-first with scheduled live sessions timed for a US-based cohort, requiring an estimated 15 to 25 hours per week.

Requirements

  • 5+ years as a senior software/systems architect, platform engineer, or senior backend/infrastructure engineer.
  • Experience designing and shipping systems at scale in a professional capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of system design, API and service architecture, cloud and infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD), and distributed systems.
  • Ability to explain the rationale behind technical decisions and critique others' architectures.
  • Strong technical communication skills, including comfort leading live sessions and writing clear feedback.
  • Strong English proficiency (C1+).
  • Comfortable using AI tools in daily technical work.

Responsibilities

  • Host weekly live sessions focused on system design, decision-making, scalability, failure modes, and trade-offs.
  • Run group office hours and 1:1 sessions for students working on projects and the capstone.
  • Review student projects, including architecture dossiers, deployed backends, cloud infrastructure, performance reports, security reviews, and the final distributed-system capstone, against established rubrics.
  • Provide architectural feedback, identifying unsound design decisions, incorrect interfaces, or unrealistic scopes, and explaining better approaches.
  • Conduct mock architecture review boards and simulated executive-panel presentations, offering structured, senior-level critique.
  • Set the technical standard for a team of supporting instructors, acting as their escalation point for design and architecture issues.

Benefits

  • Milestone-based payments tied to deliverables
  • Fully remote work with flexible hours
  • A digital office environment utilizing modern collaboration tools (Notion, Miro, Slack, Figma)
  • Professional trust and autonomy
  • The opportunity to make a real impact by helping graduates land tech jobs
  • Join a diverse, international, and close-knit team
