About The Position

The AI Solutions & Value MBA Intern will join Ingredion’s AI for Business Excellence (AIBE) team to help identify, design, value, and deliver AI and agentic solutions that drive digital transformation across the enterprise. Sitting at the intersection of business strategy and applied AI, this role is focused on translating ambiguous business problems into well-scoped AI solutions—quantifying the value at stake, shaping the design of agentic and generative-AI-enabled workflows, and helping steward those solutions from concept through implementation and adoption. This role will partner with cross-functional business, technology, and functional leaders to prioritize a portfolio of opportunities, build the business case for each, and support the hands-on design and configuration of solutions. The intern will work alongside AI/ML engineers, solution architects, product owners, and value-stream leaders across functions such as Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial—gaining exposure to how enterprise AI strategy is set, governed, and converted into measurable financial value.

Requirements

  • Progression toward an MBA, currently enrolled and completing the program (between the first and second year of study).
  • Strong business problem-solving skills—structured problem framing, hypothesis-driven analysis, and the ability to move from ambiguity to a clear, prioritized solution.
  • Financial and analytical acumen—comfort building business cases, ROI/value models, and prioritization frameworks to evaluate competing opportunities.
  • Genuine interest in applied AI and agentic solutions, with an understanding of how generative AI and autonomous agents can be applied to enterprise processes.
  • Technical fluency is a strong plus —hands-on exposure to tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, agentic frameworks, MCP, and Power Automate, and/or familiarity with data and analytics concepts (SQL, Python, cloud platforms). Deep engineering experience is not required.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional partners and present to senior leaders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team, managing multiple workstreams to deadlines.
  • Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ingredion does not intend to sponsor work visas with respect to this position or to provide this position as OPT or CPT.
  • Be currently enrolled in a full-time MBA degree program, between the first and second year of study (returning to complete the degree following the internship).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in strategy, consulting, corporate development, product, technology, or a related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build agentic AI solutions —frame business problems and prototype agent-based workflows (e.g., order processing, forecasting, financial reconciliation, batch processing) using platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, agent-builder tooling, and others.
  • Assess and quantify project value —develop business cases and ROI models for candidate AI initiatives, sizing benefits across cost reduction, revenue generation, and working-capital improvement, and supporting prioritization within the AI portfolio.
  • Support AI implementation and adoption —help translate designs into deployed solutions, coordinating across technical and business stakeholders to pilot, test, and scale, and to track realized value against the business case.
  • Translate requirements into solution designs —partner with functional teams (demand planning, manufacturing, finance, commercial, and others) to convert business needs into clear AI/agentic solution specifications.
  • Shape governance and best practices —contribute to standards, intake templates, and stage-gate controls for how AI projects are proposed, valued, approved, and delivered.
  • Communicate to executives —synthesize analysis into executive-ready recommendations and presentations, explaining AI concepts, trade-offs, and value to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Scan the market —research emerging AI/agentic capabilities, tools, and vendor offerings, and assess their applicability and differentiation for Ingredion’s use cases.
