About The Position

The AI Solutions Architect is responsible for applying AI technologies to solve high-value business problems across PEP and its portfolio companies. This role will join the Firm’s Portfolio Operations team and partners with IT, Investment, Finance, Operations, and other business teams to understand business needs, identify where AI can meaningfully improve outcomes, and translate those opportunities into practical, secure, and scalable solutions.
The AI Solutions Architect will lead the evaluation, configuration, integration, and implementation of AI-enabled solutions using commercially available AI models, platforms, and enterprise technologies. The role will guide initiatives from opportunity identification and solution design through implementation, adoption, measurement, and continuous improvement. Success in this role requires strong technical fluency, business judgment, and the ability to translate business needs into practical solutions while ensuring appropriate security, privacy, governance, and responsible AI controls.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, Business Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience in technology solutions, enterprise applications, digital transformation, technology consulting, systems integration, software solutions, product management. engineering management or a related field, with recent professional experience focused on applying AI technologies to business problems and implementing AI-enabled solutions.
• Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into technology solutions and leading initiatives from problem definition and solution evaluation through implementation, adoption, and ongoing improvement.
• Experience partnering directly with business stakeholders to understand workflows, identify opportunities for improvement, evaluate technology options, and implement solutions that deliver measurable business value.
• Strong practical knowledge of generative AI technologies, commercially available AI platforms, and enterprise AI capabilities, including an understanding of their appropriate uses, limitations, and risks.
• Experience applying capabilities such as generative AI, intelligent agents, enterprise search, retrieval-augmented generation, workflow automation, and AI-enabled productivity tools to business processes and use cases.
• Experience configuring and integrating technology solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, business systems, structured and unstructured data sources, and workflow platforms.
• Strong understanding of enterprise technology environments and the ability to assess how AI solutions can be incorporated into existing systems and business processes.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate third-party technologies and make recommendations regarding buy, configure, integrate, or alternative solution approaches based on business value, technical fit, scalability, cost, security, and risk.
• Working knowledge of data security, privacy, access controls, AI governance, and responsible AI principles, with the ability to incorporate these considerations into technology selection and implementation.
• Strong analytical and business problem-solving skills, including the ability to determine whether AI is an appropriate solution and identify simpler technology or process alternatives when appropriate.
• Ability to independently lead complex, cross-functional initiatives, establish priorities, influence technical and non-technical stakeholders, and communicate AI capabilities, limitations, risks, and trade-offs clearly.
• Sufficient technical fluency to work effectively with Technology teams, vendors, and solution providers and to understand integration requirements, APIs, data flows, system dependencies, and implementation considerations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with IT, Investment, Finance, Operations, and other business teams to understand business processes, identify high-value opportunities for AI, and prioritize initiatives based on business value, feasibility, risk, and scalability.
• Translate business needs into practical AI-enabled solutions by evaluating available technologies and determining how existing AI tools, platforms, and enterprise capabilities can be applied to improve productivity, decision-making, operational effectiveness, or financial outcomes.
• Design solution approaches that leverage existing AI capabilities, including generative AI platforms, intelligent agents, enterprise search, workflow automation, and other commercially available technologies.
• Leverage current, commercially available AI solutions within existing business processes and enterprise systems, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Slack, Workday, DealCloud, and other firm and portfolio company platforms to solve prioritized business cases. Where an existing solution is not the best fit, recommend alternative AI approaches.
• Evaluate AI models, platforms, applications, and third-party solutions and make recommendations based on business requirements, functionality, ease of implementation, integration needs, cost, security, scalability, and operational risk.
• Determine the appropriate solution approach, including when to leverage an existing enterprise capability, configure a commercial AI product, integrate multiple technologies, or use a non-AI solution when it better addresses the business need.
• Lead AI initiatives from business problem definition through implementation and adoption, coordinating solution design, configuration, integration, testing, stakeholder engagement, rollout, monitoring, and ongoing enhancement.
• Establish reusable solution patterns, implementation approaches, and playbooks that enable successful AI use cases to be replicated and scaled across business functions and portfolio companies.
• Partner with Technology and Legal teams to incorporate security, privacy, governance, regulatory, and responsible AI requirements into the selection, configuration, integration, and use of AI solutions.
• Define and monitor measures of solution effectiveness and business impact, including adoption, productivity improvement, financial value, and return on investment, and use results to guide enhancements and future priorities.
• Handle ad hoc requests as they arise.
