AI - Software Engineering - Fellow I

FiservRemote, California, CA
$210,000 - $330,000

About The Position

The AI - Software Engineering - Fellow I will lead the engineering team building a multi-tenant agentic AI platform for financial services. In addition, you will own the technical strategy, delivery, and production operations at scale.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years leading engineering teams across multiple product areas or platform pillars.
  • Proven track record building and shipping multi-tenant SaaS platforms — ideally in financial services, payments, or regulated industries.
  • Deep hands-on experience with AWS (IAM, KMS, Cognito, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, ECS/EKS) and infrastructure-as-code (CDK or Terraform).
  • Strong background in platform engineering — SDK design, API governance, developer experience, and internal platform adoption.
  • Experience with identity and authorization architectures — federation, RBAC/ABAC, credential management, tenant isolation patterns.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and retain senior engineering talent in a high-growth environment.
  • Experience managing AWS or cloud vendor partnerships with embedded engineering resources.
  • Familiarity with security and compliance in financial services — threat modeling, penetration testing, audit requirements, data residency.
  • Strong architectural judgment — ability to make build-vs-buy decisions, set technical direction across distributed teams, and manage technical debt.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AI/ML platforms, LLM orchestration, or agentic systems (agent frameworks, tool use, multi-turn workflows, human-in-the-loop patterns).
  • Familiarity with AWS Bedrock, AgentCore, or similar managed AI services.
  • Knowledge of Cedar policy language, Amazon Verified Permissions, or comparable policy engines.
  • Experience with observability at scale — OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, audit pipelines, PII redaction.
  • Background in MCP (Model Context Protocol), agent-to-agent delegation, or governed tool execution.
  • Experience leading platform teams through SOC2 certification, OCC examination readiness, or FFIEC compliance.
  • Prior experience at a fintech, payments processor, or banking technology company.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end engineering delivery of the agentic AI platform.
  • Set technical vision and architecture direction for a multi-tenant agentic platform built on AWS Bedrock AgentCore, Strands Agents SDK, and Cedar/AVP authorization.
  • Recruit, hire, and develop pillar leads and senior engineers across Identity & Access, Agent Runtime, Observability & FinOps, Catalog & Registry, and Evals & Testing.
  • Drive platform security posture — threat modeling for agent delegation chains, prompt injection defense, cross-tenant isolation, and regulatory compliance (SOC2, OCC, FFIEC).
  • Establish engineering standards — ADRs, SDK architecture patterns, code review culture.
  • Build and operate the agent onboarding pipeline — enabling adjacent business teams to build, certify, and deploy agents on the platform.
  • Define SLOs, operational readiness criteria, and incident response processes for a banking-grade production platform.
  • Manage cross-pillar dependencies and technical risk — credential flows, MCP Gateway governance, audit pipeline completeness, and multi-tenant data isolation.
  • Partner with Security to establish pre-GA sign-off gates including penetration testing, SAST/DAST integration, and compliance certification.
  • Drive FinOps discipline — per-tenant cost attribution, LLM usage optimization, and infrastructure right-sizing.

Benefits

  • Annual incentive opportunity which may be delivered as a mix of cash bonus and equity awards.
