AI Software Engineer
About The Position
The AI Software Engineer will join Hilton’s in-house AI Platform team and report to the Senior Manager Software Engineering. The role supports projects such as an AI stay planner, AI agents, and Large Language Model integrations. It may be based at a corporate office in Dallas, Texas; McLean, Virginia; or Memphis, Tennessee, or be remote. The engineer builds APIs, MCP servers, AI agents, and LLM interactions; develops full-stack web applications; designs and implements scalable cloud applications on AWS; and builds observability capabilities. The role also involves proposing and refining UI/UX concepts with Product and UX teams, evaluating and maintaining AI assistants with Security and Legal teams, and adapting AI tools to Hilton codebases in collaboration with software engineering teams. The engineer partners with delivery managers and other team members to translate requirements into technical solutions through sprint planning, design reviews, and architecture discussions. The role owns implementation and production deployment of AI agents for developer productivity and customer experience use cases, including API integrations, evaluation pipelines, monitoring, support, and agent workflow best practices. Travel up to 5% is required.
Requirements
- Professional work experience in Technology or a related field.
- Experience developing Generative AI-driven solutions.
- Experience engineering AI solutions through UI development, API configuration, or platform support.
- Travel up to 5%.

- Bachelor's degree, or Associate's degree plus 3 or more years of Technology-related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 5 or more years of Technology-related experience.
- Three or more years of professional work experience in Technology or a related field.
- Two or more years of work experience in Generative AI-driven solutions.
- Two or more years of experience engineering AI solutions in UI development, API configuration, or platform support.
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as ElastiCache or OpenSearch.
- Located near one of the three U.S. office locations: McLean, Dallas, or Memphis.
Responsibilities
- Build APIs, MCP servers, AI agents, and LLM interactions using Python, FastAPI, LangChain, or Strands.
- Develop full-stack web applications using React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Vitest, and Testing Library.
- Design and implement scalable cloud applications using AWS services such as S3, EKS, ElastiCache, Bedrock, AgentCore, and Guardrails.
- Build observability using Datadog and Splunk.
- Propose initial UI/UX concepts and flows and iterate based on feedback from Product and UX teams.
- Work with Security and Legal teams to evaluate and maintain AI assistants.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to adapt tools to Hilton codebases by implementing custom instructions, custom agents, and agent skills.
- Partner with delivery managers, software engineers, and other team members to translate requirements into technical solutions through sprint planning, design reviews, and architecture discussions.
- Guide implementation and production deployment of AI agents for developer productivity and customer experience use cases, including API integrations, evaluation pipelines, monitoring, support, and best practices for agent workflows.
