About The Position

GCI is seeking an AI Software Engineer SME to develop and support AI-based systems for customer mission requirements. The role includes training models using data from other components; creating AI systems, models, human-review processes, outputs, ETL processes, and databases; and productionizing AI systems as part of collection mechanisms. The engineer supports operational users with break-fix work and software updates, researches open-source AI/ML developments, and collaborates with customer and community stakeholders on AI efforts. The position involves framing and scaling data problems, developing scalable and secure application functionality, integrating AI algorithms into IT project deliverables, and creating models and metrics aligned with business objectives. The engineer derives insights and analytic narratives from data and visualizations, analyzes AI/ML technology trends, conducts independent technical research in areas such as robotics, autonomy, software, engineering, and data analysis, and works with stakeholders to define AI solutions that fit architectural frameworks and business needs. The role also involves applying disciplines including natural language processing, machine learning, predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and hypothesis testing, and programming systems to identify specified conditions and respond accordingly. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and hold an active/current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. GCI is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.
