About The Position

Canva's Localisation team is seeking an AI Quality Evaluator with native Japanese proficiency to support the company's global AI initiatives. This role involves labelling and evaluating AI-generated content to ensure quality and cultural appropriateness for Japanese-speaking markets. The position is a 12-month contract within a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, requiring strong attention to detail and time management skills. The evaluator will collaborate with internal teams to build and refine language-specific datasets for Canva's AI features.

• Native proficiency in Japanese required.

Responsibilities

• Support international AI company goals by handling labelling and annotation tasks in Japanese, in collaboration with Data Labelling Teams.
• Deliver high-quality, accurate, and timely labelling outputs to support product, content, and AI development.
• Complete assigned labelling tasks from internal customer requests in alignment with project priorities.
• Maintain accuracy, consistency, and efficiency across all labelling outputs.
• Meet delivery timelines and output targets for each task type.
• Actively support Data Labelling team objectives through collaboration, responsiveness, and adherence to quality and data standards.
• Complete a variety of labelling tasks based on provided guidelines within a limited timeframe to support Canva’s AI feature training and development.
• Label, annotate, and evaluate photos, graphics, videos, stickers, designs, and other data types in accordance with internal labelling guidelines.
• Evaluate AI-generated content in native Japanese, assessing linguistic quality, accuracy, and cultural appropriateness.
• Build and contribute to language-specific datasets to support the internationalization of Canva AI features.
• Deliver labelled assets based on the set timeline and meeting output targets per labelling task.
• Review and refine own labels based on feedback to maintain accuracy and consistency.
• Be responsive and consistently check all communications for task deliveries and updates.
• Manage own time effectively to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Be participative and attend all briefing and run-through sessions.
• Follow Canva’s data security and confidentiality policies.
• Collaborate with in-house team members for ongoing alignment on quality standards.
