About The Position

Seso is modernizing the back-office for American farms, which are often decades behind in technology adoption for recruiting, managing, and paying their workforce. Our mission is to build the premier platform for agribusiness to hire and manage their workforce and improve the lives of agricultural workers. We address the critical pain point of labor access through a software-enabled solution that automates the H-2A visa process. Our comprehensive HR platform streamlines and automates hiring for farms, integrating recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and insurance, while also providing workers access to financial services. Seso has secured over $60M in funding from prominent investors and has received recognition for its innovation.

Requirements

• A product or engineering background with experience building and shipping products and understanding system integration.
• Demonstrated fluency with modern AI tools (LLMs, agentic frameworks, automation platforms like Zapier, Make, n8n, Retool) and the ability to prototype production-ready solutions.
• Strong business acumen, including comfort with P&Ls, gross margin levers, and translating operational metrics into priorities.
• High agency and a bias to ship: ability to identify problems, scope them, build initial versions, and measure impact.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with leaders across different functions.
• Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to define and drive initiatives.
• Track record of impact in high-growth environments, ideally in vertical SaaS, fintech, ops-tech, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in a Chief of Staff, BizOps, or founding-operator role at a high-growth startup.
• Familiarity with the agriculture, labor, payroll, or HR-tech space.
• Engineering or CS background with production shipping experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the CEO to identify, prioritize, and execute high-leverage automation and AI opportunities across the company.
• Map current workflows in each business function, identify inefficiencies, and design end-to-end solutions integrating internal tooling with AI.
• Build prototypes and ship lightweight integrations connecting Seso's internal systems (CRM, payroll platform, comms tools, data warehouse) to AI services and APIs.
• Quantify and track gross margin improvements driven by implemented changes.
• Identify, scope, and pressure-test AI product opportunities for farm customers.
• Act as a thought partner to the CEO on strategic priorities, special projects, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Translate technical concepts between functions, making engineering understandable to operators and operations understandable to engineers.
