About The Position

As the AI Model Governance & Monitoring Lead, you will lead the development and implementation of governance practices that enable the responsible, compliant, and effective use of artificial intelligence across the association. You will establish and mature AI governance frameworks, risk management practices, monitoring processes, and controls that address the evolving regulatory and risk landscape surrounding AI and machine learning. You will monitor and interpret emerging AI regulations, legislation, regulatory guidance, and industry standards, including state-level AI laws, and other requirements impacting the use and deployment of AI. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or science field; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
  • 8+ years of experience in an information management practice, business application function, or data delivery; OR If advanced degree in a Business or Science discipline, 6+ years of experience in data and analytics, technical, or business relevant function.
  • Demonstrated expertise to develop and implement of Strategies or Processes related to Information Management in complex situations.
  • Experience in AI governance, model risk management, data governance, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the AI regulatory and legislative landscape, including emerging federal and state-level AI laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance.
  • Knowledge of the NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF) and its application to AI governance and risk management.
  • Understanding of the data privacy implications associated with AI, including requirements and considerations related to GLBA, CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, and other applicable privacy regulations.
  • Proven experience leading projects or programs in which you applied data management practices and tools to address data management risks and concerns during data lifecycle.
  • Experience leading project teams or support teams to define, redefine, or continue management of data.
  • Demonstrated expert communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations to all levels of management including concise presentation of complex technical details.
  • Demonstrated information management expertise including experience coaching and mentoring others on information management practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified AI Governance Professional (AIGP), Information Management Professional (CIMP), Information Governance Professional (IGP), Certified Information Professional or equivalent industry certification.
  • Financial services, insurance, banking, or other highly regulated industry experience.
  • CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) certification preferred.
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.

Responsibilities

  • Assist IMA Director in ensuring that information management practices are integrated into appropriate business and technology processes in support of the Information Governance policy.
  • Identify and influence opportunities for process improvements across all IMA responsibilities and processes across data spokes.
  • Lead discussions with cross-functional teams on complex problems. Align best practices and tools based on business needs and driving the efficiency and effectiveness of the program.
  • Influence or assist with prioritization of work based on criticality and risk.
  • Influence others across business areas and levels to implement and enhance information solutions.
  • Be responsible for the maintenance and validity of Information Asset Inventories.
  • Champion and support delivery of information in accordance with Information Governance standards and data management practices.
  • Lead the integration of Information Management practices into existing processes including ability to incorporate data management practices into new and emerging information technologies or complex situations.
  • Lead Data Lineage collection and stitching to ensure complete end to end data flow of critical data.
  • Lead the identification of and resolution of complex data quality concerns or issues.
  • Assist Steward in the design of data quality rules, thresholds, and standard metrics of quality for data elements that support critical business processes in complex situations.
  • Development of process enhancements to mitigate data quality risks including data quality plan development and overseeing the implementation of data quality controls.
  • Define and oversee high risk data quality corrective action plans.
  • Oversee compliance assessment process by reviewing and documenting failures from data quality compliance assessment checks.
  • Lead the implementation of Data initiatives within their data spoke that help mitigate data risk and perform root cause analysis to identify areas for improvement.
  • Influence others to implement and improve data quality practices.
  • Develop Master and Reference Data processes to align with Enterprise Policies and Standards.
  • Ensure quality and maintenance of master and reference data.
  • Oversee compliance assessment process by identifying and escalating items that may be a risk to the corporation.
  • Partner with IT and other Information Management resources to define and implement complex Access Management strategies in alignment with Information Governance policies.
  • Lead Privacy initiatives through classification and analysis of sensitive data.
  • Ensure compliance and remediation of sensitive data to ensure proper mitigation of inherent risk.
  • Identify and influence opportunities for process improvements across all IMA and/or Stewardship responsibilities and processes across data spokes.
  • Assist the Steward or if the Steward, design of data quality rules, thresholds, and standard metrics of quality for data elements that support critical business processes in complex situations.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
