About The Position

CACI is seeking an experienced AI/ML Subject Matter Expert to support a Department of Defense customer at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. The position works closely with Research & Development teams to evaluate, develop, assess, and validate advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions. The successful candidate conducts Independent Verification & Validation activities, analyzes model performance and effectiveness, and produces objective technical reports assessing AI/ML capabilities and limitations. The role emphasizes mathematics, statistics, machine learning theory, and data science. Familiarity with generative AI is desirable, but the primary focus is evaluating and improving AI/ML methodologies rather than AI operations, prompt engineering, or application-level integration alone. The candidate should be scientifically rigorous and able to examine internally developed, vendor-provided, and research-partner solutions, assess their strengths and weaknesses, and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders. The position requires an active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship. Travel is required up to 10%, and the role supports a DoD customer at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
