About The Position

CACI is hiring an experienced AI/ML Platform Engineer to join its Lisle DevOps team. The role provides expert support for on-premises LLM-enabled technologies and agentic workflows, ensuring their integration and operation in development and test environments. It involves architecting and operating AI infrastructure, supporting software development and automated testing environments, and working with cross-functional teams. The position is full-time and in-office, with occasional local travel of up to 10%. A TS/SCI clearance is required to begin employment; CACI may sponsor clearance for qualified individuals. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline and at least four years of related experience, or a similar master’s degree and two years of related experience. Candidates should have experience supporting small to mid-sized organizations of 100 or more users and analyzing, designing, implementing, and supporting large, complex, inter-networked systems. The proposed salary range is $90,300–$189,600 USD. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or another related scientific or technical discipline, with at least four years of related experience; or a similar master’s degree and two years of related experience.
Experience supporting small to mid-sized organizations (100+ users).
Experience analyzing, designing, implementing, and supporting large, complex, inter-networked systems.
TS/SCI clearance required to begin employment; clearance sponsorship may be available for qualified individuals.
In-depth information technology understanding.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Familiarity with software development using Python, SQL, and Java.
Experience writing data pipelines with Airflow, Spark, Apache Iceberg, or DBT.
Experience managing AI/ML infrastructure through Kubernetes, Kserve, vLLM, LangFuse, Elasticsearch, and Terraform.
Experience supporting GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
Understanding of RAG, MCP servers, QLoRA, and artifact repositories such as Nexus.
Conceptual understanding of data warehousing and data pipelines from open and proprietary sources.
Ability to work under limited supervision and adapt to change.
Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
Good work ethics and diligence in work performed.
Ability to take initiative and ownership of requirements and tasks.
Knowledge of IT system processes involving requirements definition, analysis, design, implementation, networks, security, and life-cycle support.

Responsibilities

Architect a greenfield implementation of LLM-enabled technologies for agentic workflows.
Deploy, operate, and monitor open-weight LLMs hosted on local Kubernetes clusters.
Design, build, and maintain RAG pipelines for document investigation, chunking, embedding, retrieval, and reranking using existing models and services.
Develop and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and their connections to existing services.
Coach teams on best practices for MCP design and usage.
Support software automated testing environments.
Collaborate with development teams to implement CI/CD pipelines.
Instrument tracing and evaluation tools to measure, compare, and iteratively improve product cycles.
Provide requirements for network infrastructure to improve model-serving performance and accessibility.
Support software development environments and change management systems.
