AI/Machine Learning Software Engineer
About The Position
Core4ce is seeking a talented AI/Machine Learning Software Engineer to join our AAIM Lab team in Beavercreek, OH. The Autonomy, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning (AAIM) Lab accelerates problem-solving and undertakes development challenges for various government customers and partners, employing existing and to-be-developed AI/ML tools. This position offers hands-on experience building production AI/ML systems for defense and government applications, working with cutting-edge technologies including large language models, cloud platforms, and modern software engineering practices. The ideal candidate will assist with the development of AI/ML applications and infrastructure that support our customers. This position is designed to be flexible, with responsibilities evolving to meet business needs and enable individual growth.
Requirements
- Must be able to work in an office environment at a desk and computer
- May travel ~10% to conferences, program reviews, industry meetings, or other collaborative events. Most or all travel would be CONUS.
Responsibilities
- Implement and optimize machine learning algorithms and workflows
- Develop and integrate large language model applications
- Build data processing pipelines for various document types and data sources
- Experiment with embedding models and vector search techniques
- Evaluate model performance and improve system accuracy through testing and iteration
- Develop backend APIs and services using modern Python frameworks
- Design and implement database integrations and data storage solutions
- Build scalable, maintainable code following best practices
- Write unit tests and contribute to system documentation
- Participate in code reviews and collaborative development processes
- Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform preferred)
- Work with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Contribute to infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines
- Assist with monitoring, logging, and system optimization
- Support production deployments and troubleshooting
- Contribute to web-based user interfaces using modern frontend frameworks
- Build intuitive components for AI/ML application interactions
- Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs
- Implement responsive designs and user experience improvements
