About The Position

Affinity Consulting is seeking a Legal Innovation Strategist and Advisor with a background in practicing law and a proven interest in leveraging AI to transform legal work. The ideal candidate will possess executive presence, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills to guide law firms through significant operational changes and the adoption of AI technologies. This role involves identifying inefficiencies, designing new systems, and helping firms embrace innovation to thrive. Requirements

Executive presence and the ability to gain immediate trust from law firm partners.
Ability to deliver difficult messages effectively and manage disagreements among senior stakeholders.
Real legal practice experience, providing fluency in legal work processes and common bottlenecks.
Working understanding of major AI tools relevant to the legal industry (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Harvey, Clio Work).
Ability to identify legal process friction points and match them with appropriate AI capabilities.
Recent, real-world experience practicing law.
Experience using AI tools to improve legal work, understanding prompts, skills, workflows, risks, and ROI.
Desire to help others adopt and benefit from AI.
Ability to transform how law firms operate, from solo practitioners to enterprise firms.
Skill in asking sharp questions, connecting disparate ideas, and turning friction into opportunity.
Excitement about AI, automation, and systems thinking.

Responsibilities

Lead AI engagements at the executive level within law firms, acting as a liaison between firm challenges and AI development teams.
Identify and analyze legal practice inefficiencies, proposing AI-driven solutions and intelligent workflows.
Develop expertise in key legal AI tools (e.g., Claude, Harvey, Copilot, ChatGPT, Clio Work/Vincent, NetDocs AI) and create adoption roadmaps for firms.
Train legal professionals (partners, associates, paralegals, staff) on leveraging AI effectively in their daily work.
Contribute to Affinity's position as a national leader in legal AI transformation through speaking, teaching, and writing.
Lead discovery sessions to understand firm workflows, identify frustrations, and pinpoint AI/automation opportunities.
Develop strategic roadmaps for AI and automation to enhance efficiency, quality, and profitability.
Build trust with legal professionals by understanding their current state and guiding them toward future possibilities.
Translate client needs into documentation for internal AI solution specialists.
Collaborate with team members on strategy implementation and enablement.
Identify patterns to standardize offerings into scalable frameworks.
Deliver educational sessions (live and virtual) for law firms and industry groups.
Participate in podcasts, webinars, and conference panels to educate the legal sector on AI.
Create enablement assets and thought leadership content.
Stay current with emerging AI tools, legal tech, and best practices.
Test new tools, evaluate their suitability for legal use cases, and contribute to internal assessments.
Contribute to the evolution of AI services based on practical outcomes.
