About The Position

The AI & Intelligent Systems Enablement Manager serves as the site's trusted advisor on AI and digital maturity, identifying the organizational capabilities required to modernize how work gets done and to responsibly adopt emerging technologies. This role leads the identification, design, and delivery of AI-enabled digital solutions that improve operational performance across the site. Working closely with business stakeholders, the Manager determines where digital decision-making, analytics, automation, or AI create meaningful, sustainable value — and builds it.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field with at least 4 years of experience OR Master’s degree with more than 2 years of experience, OR a PhD with 0 years of experience OR High School Diploma (or Equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience OR an Associate’s degree with 8 years of experience.
  • Experience in AI/ML solution development, data engineering, or digital solutions delivery
  • Hands-on experience with large language models and orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, OpenAI APIs, or similar) for building agentic workflows
  • Experience designing tool-augmented agents — function calling, retrieval-augmented generation, memory systems, and planning/execution loops — rather than single-shot prompts
  • Working knowledge of vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval systems to support accurate, scalable knowledge retrieval
  • Experience applying prompt engineering, evaluation, and guardrail techniques (e.g., hallucination mitigation, output validation) to production-grade AI systems
  • Experience with low-code/no-code platforms such as Power BI and Power Automate
  • Demonstrated experience assessing data quality and readiness (completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness) for analytics or AI use cases
  • Proficiency in SQL or equivalent tools for querying and profiling data directly from source systems
  • Understanding of the differing data-quality requirements across AI approaches (e.g., retrieval-based, predictive, generative)
  • Familiarity with site operational systems (e.g., LIMS, SAP, EAMS, quality management systems)
  • Strong ability to translate technical capability into business value for non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfort operating across both strategic advisory work and hands-on technical delivery
  • Permanent work authorization in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated manufacturing environments (GxP, CSV)
  • Exposure to AI governance or responsible-AI frameworks
  • Experience training or upskilling colleagues on new digital tools
  • Awareness of production AI system considerations such as latency, cost efficiency, and observability

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop AI-enabled solutions that address approved business needs, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions and generative AI use cases.
  • Integrate AI into existing digital products where it measurably improves business value.
  • Assess data availability and quality relevant to digital or AI applications.
  • Work with data owners to close gaps needed for reliable AI outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and digitize workflows.
  • Support technology-enabled process improvements alongside CI Specialists and Improvers, and recommend and implement continuous-improvement initiatives.

  • Develop roadmaps that integrate emerging technologies into manufacturing operations, and recommend investments that strengthen AI and long-term digital performance.
  • Partner with business functions to identify digital improvement needs.
  • Guide project scoping, feasibility assessment, and technology selection, and ensure initiatives follow the site's standard project intake and governance process.
  • Deliver awareness sessions and training that build digital and AI capability across colleagues.
  • Support upskilling initiatives aligned with the site's Digital Workforce framework.
  • Ensure all solutions comply with corporate governance, security, validation, and responsible-AI requirements, including guardrails against hallucination and bias.
  • Promote appropriate use of AI across the site and document governance decisions.
  • Monitor industry trends in emerging AI technologies and platform developments.
  • Evaluate new tools for potential site adoption, share best practices with Digital Engineering and site leadership, and maintain awareness of evolving regulatory and governance expectations.
