AI Infrastructure Engineer [Senior]
About The Position
Tessera Labs is hiring a senior individual-contributor AI Infrastructure Engineer to design and own production-grade infrastructure for its AI agent systems across multiple cloud providers. The AI Infrastructure team builds and operates portable infrastructure—including Kubernetes, networking, and automation—so customer environments are reliable, secure, production-ready, and consistent regardless of cloud provider. The role has ownership of architectural decisions and supports enterprise onboarding and operation under strict security and compliance constraints while helping product teams maintain delivery speed. The engineer will build and be the primary owner of the Azure or Oracle Cloud variant of Tessera’s infrastructure, while also supporting GCP and AWS. The role focuses on infrastructure portability, reliability, security, observability, Kubernetes and Terraform operations, CI/CD and GitOps, and automation of infrastructure and developer workflows. It is a hands-on senior IC role working closely with product and platform engineers.
Requirements
- 10–15+ years of experience as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer.
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
- Strong hands-on experience in Azure, Oracle Cloud, GCP, or AWS.
- Proven experience designing and owning CI/CD systems, pipeline architecture, GitOps-driven deployments, release automation, and pipeline-as-code practices.
- Experience building automation frameworks for DevOps and developer workflows, including scripting with Bash, Python, or similar, workflow orchestration, and self-service tooling that reduces manual intervention.
- Strong networking fundamentals.
- Proven experience deploying and operating production systems.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with FluxCD or other GitOps controllers such as ArgoCD.
- Understanding of cloud security and DevSecOps, including integrating security gates, SBOM generation, and compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines.
- Passion and curiosity for clean, unified infrastructure and best practices.
- Experience with software development and SDLC, and a builder mindset.
- Experience in startups and/or big tech environments.
- Strong ownership mindset and interest in building foundational systems other engineers rely on.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain production-grade AI agent infrastructure.
- Support Tessera’s AI infrastructure across cloud providers.
- Build and be the primary owner of the Azure or Oracle Cloud infrastructure variant, while also supporting GCP and AWS.
- Enable portable infrastructure across customer environments.
- Improve observability, security, and system reliability.
- Deploy and operate applications using Kubernetes and Terraform.
- Partner with product and platform engineers to unblock delivery.
- Design and build CI/CD pipelines and own end-to-end automation of build, test, and deployment workflows for infrastructure and application code.
- Build and maintain a reusable automation framework for DevOps and developer workflows, including environment provisioning, secret rotation, dependency updates, compliance checks, and release management.
- Automate operational runbooks and recurring processes, identify manual work across the engineering organization, and eliminate it with scripts, pipeline stages, and self-service tooling.
- Promote an automation-first approach and ensure automated processes are observable and maintained like production code.
