AI Fellow (Part-time)

IntrinsicDenver, CO

About The Position

This fellowship exists to close the gap between current AI capabilities and Intrinsic's AI roadmap. The fellow will work directly with senior leadership to translate AI ideas into deployed, functioning workflows that deal teams, advisory practitioners, and support functions will use daily. This is an applied role focused on real outcomes, aiming to build and deploy AI agents, document workflows, and enhance the firm's AI capabilities. The fellowship offers direct access to senior leadership, real deployment authority, exposure to middle-market M&A and professional services, participation in the Colorado Thrives AI Fellows cohort, and a valuable professional network.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working with large language models and AI tools in applied settings — not just theoretical familiarity.
  • Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, AI agent configuration, or workflow automation using tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Zapier, Make, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to move from concept to working prototype without requiring significant technical hand-holding.
  • Comfort evaluating AI outputs critically — you know when something looks right but isn’t, and you build review steps in accordingly.
  • Strong written communication — the playbooks, templates, and internal documentation you produce are clear, organized, and usable by someone who was not in the room when you built them.
  • Ability to explain AI concepts and tools to non-technical audiences without condescension or jargon.
  • Structured thinker — you map processes before you automate them, and your documentation reflects that rigor.
  • Understanding of confidentiality requirements in a professional services context — you know what should and should not go into an AI tool, and you design workflows accordingly.
  • Self-directed and organized — you manage your own time, surface blockers early, and deliver against commitments.
  • Curious about how businesses work, not just how AI works — you are interested in the professional services context, not just the technology.
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program in computer science, information systems, business, finance, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the firm’s AI implementation roadmap in partnership with senior leadership, prioritizing high-impact, practical use cases.
  • Translate AI ideas from internal brainstorming materials into operational outputs: documented workflows, prototypes, and deployed agents on designated platforms (Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and others).
  • Prototype, test, deploy, and iteratively improve AI-enabled tools and workflows that enhance internal efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
  • Support refinement of existing AI agents and automation workflows through structured testing, performance evaluation, and user feedback.
  • Map existing due diligence workflows — Quality of Earnings analysis, data room management, report drafting, management Q&A prep — and identify where AI can reduce manual effort without compromising output quality.
  • Build and maintain a prompt library for Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) and Finance and Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) practitioners: tested, documented prompts for common analytical tasks, including financial statement summarization, variance explanation, and diligence narrative drafting.
  • Develop AI-assisted document review workflows for financial due diligence — extracting structured data from target company financials, payor contracts, and other diligence materials.
  • Prototype tools that support report generation: section drafts, exhibit labeling, and executive summary structuring that practitioners can review and refine rather than build from scratch.
  • Assess AI applicability to FAAS workflows, including technical accounting research, ASC 805 documentation support, and client deliverable templating.
  • Test AI tools and support team members in learning and adopting existing AI platforms, meeting practitioners where they are rather than assuming baseline familiarity.
  • Develop internal documentation, playbooks, and templates that make AI tools accessible and replicable firm-wide — not dependent on any one person’s knowledge.
  • Facilitate internal knowledge-sharing sessions — lunch-and-learns, walkthroughs, and Q&A — that build practical AI fluency across practice areas.
  • Create a living FAQ and troubleshooting guide for internal AI platforms that reduces friction and builds team confidence.
  • Assist leadership in evaluating new AI use cases for feasibility, risk, and expected business impact prior to implementation.
  • Develop a lightweight framework for assessing AI tool risk in a client-facing professional services context: accuracy requirements, confidentiality exposure, and output review protocols.
  • Flag potential risks associated with AI use in client deliverables and recommend guardrails that allow the firm to move fast without creating liability.
  • Track AI implementation progress, outcomes, and success metrics; maintain clear documentation for internal leadership updates, firm-wide communications, and board-level reporting.
  • Document applied AI use cases and lessons learned in support of Colorado Thrives program case studies, with any external sharing subject to company approval.
  • Stay current on emerging AI tools, large language model developments, and applied AI practices; share relevant insights internally on a regular cadence.
  • Participate actively in the Colorado Thrives AI Fellows cohort learning experience while maintaining alignment with Intrinsic’s priorities and confidentiality requirements.
