AI Enterprise Architect

About The Position

Presidio is seeking an AI Enterprise Architect to join the newly established AI Advisory & Architecture Business Unit. The AI EA partners with the AI Strategy and Business Consulting team to increase win rate, opportunity magnitude, and services attach to strategic AI pursuits by bringing cross-practice, partner-informed but business outcome-led architecture to the earliest stages of the sales cycle. Enterprise Architects are responsible for translating identified client-specific AI outcomes into cross-practice solution architectures spanning Modern Networks, Modern Platforms, Total Experience, Cyber Security, Digital, Splunk, Managed Services and Evolve. Each AI Enterprise Architect is territorially aligned to a Presidio Sales SVP region (South, West, Mid-Central, North, Public Sector, or Strategic Accounts) and works closely with field sales, field presales, and embedded practice SAs within their territory. While territorially aligned, EAs may engage nationally when specific domain expertise is required. This position includes up to 50% travel. AI Enterprise Architects operate under the TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) standard. Active TOGAF certification is required for this role. The AI EA's mandate is clear: recommend the appropriate architecture to provide the agreed upon client outcome – regardless of practice or partner benefits. This role augments vs. replaces Practice SAs; AI EAs work collaboratively alongside them, providing the cross-practice architecture layer that no single practice SA can deliver alone.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or related field or equivalent military experience. Advanced certifications in lieu of degree may be considered.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience across multiple technology domains including AI infrastructure, data center networking, compute and GPU platforms, storage, cybersecurity, and cloud. Ability to architect across disciplines without bias toward any single domain.
  • Strong understanding of AI infrastructure components including GPU compute (NVIDIA), AI-ready networking (Cisco), storage and data platforms (Dell, NetApp, Pure Storage, Vast Data), and hyperscaler AI services (AWS, Azure). Experience with AI Factory and AI-ready data center architectures.
  • Proven experience producing enterprise-grade architecture deliverables — current-state assessments, future-state designs, phased roadmaps, architecture decision records, and cross-domain solution designs — for mid-market and enterprise clients.
  • Prior experience working in a presales, solutions architecture, or consulting role that required collaboration across multiple technology practices or domains. Ability to translate business objectives into technology solutions.
  • Experience producing Statements of Work, technical proposals, and scoping documents in a professional services environment. Ability to clearly define deliverables, timelines, and dependencies across multiple delivery teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present architecture recommendations to CTO/CIO-level audiences, facilitate technical workshops, and defend design decisions under scrutiny.

Nice To Haves

  • Active TOGAF 9 or TOGAF 10 certification is required. Demonstrated ability to apply the TOGAF Architecture Development Method in real client engagements — not just theoretical knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Cisco & Dell -NVIDIA joint validated AI Factory reference architectures and AI-ready data center designs.
  • Experience designing multi-agent AI architectures, MLOPs/LLMOps pipelines, and enterprise AI deployment frameworks including governance and observability layers.
  • Understanding of AI-ready data platform architecture including data lakes, data lakehouses, vector databases, and unstructured data management for AI workloads.
  • Prior experience working with or within Presidio practices (Modern Networks, Modern Platforms, Total Transformation, Cyber Security, Digital, Splunk) is a strong advantage.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 40-60% within assigned territory and nationally when domain expertise requires cross-territory engagement.
  • AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Cisco CCIE, SABSA, or other advanced multi-domain architecture certifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end AI solutions that span across Presidio practices. Produce reference architecture deliverables that integrate networking, compute, storage, cyber security, governance, data, and application layers — selecting the right OEM and practice for each component and ensuring they can be deployed and managed in a supportable fashion.
  • Collaborate with clients, partner and Presidio stakeholders to apply the TOGAF Architecture Development Method (ADM) on every engagement — from Architecture Vision through Opportunities & Solutions to Implementation Governance. Produce consistent, standards-based architecture documentation.
  • Receive AI strategy and business requirements from the AI Consulting team. Translate consulting deliverables (AI readiness assessments, use case prioritizations, business cases) into referenceable technical architectures and solution designs.
  • Work alongside embedded presales SA’s, Client Engagement Services and Engineering from each practice involved in the engagement. Coordinate cross-practice design sessions, review practice-specific components, and ensure cohesion across the full solution.
  • Produce 12-24 month phased technology roadmaps and coordinate cross-practice Statements of Work. Ensure deliverables clearly define scope, sequencing, dependencies, and practice responsibilities and are aligned to client outcomes.
  • Provide delivery phase governance to ensure what is built by the practices provides the desired client outcome(s). Participate in architecture review checkpoints and escalation support as needed.
  • Operate as a trusted technical advisor within the assigned Sales SVP territory. Build strong working relationships with territory account managers, sales leadership, field presales SAs, and key clients.
  • Maintain deep expertise across primary AI partners (Dell (accelerated compute, NVIDIA networking, AI Storage), Cisco (compute, networking, & AI Security) , NVIDIA (HW & SW), AWS (Bedrock), Palo Alto, Crowdstrike) and supporting partners (NetApp, EverPure, Rubrik, Vast Data). Maintain working knowledge of all current and emerging Presidio AI partners across the data and knowledge, AI platform and infrastructure, AI operations and responsible AI & governance domains. Stay current on partner roadmaps, validated designs, and AI-ready reference architectures.
  • Contribute to the EA team's library of cross-practice architecture patterns, reference architectures, and reusable solution playbooks. Share learnings across the national EA team.
