About The Position

At Kiwi, AI is already a core part of the product, not an experiment. We design and operate systems powered by LLMs, agents, and automation that interact with users in real time. The challenge is no longer experimentation, it’s scaling what already works. We’re looking for an AI Engineering Lead who is hands-on and deeply involved in building and scaling AI systems, to evolve this foundation into more robust architectures capable of handling higher volume, complexity, and concurrent interactions, with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and cost.

Requirements

• 9+ years in software development
• 4+ years in technical leadership
• Hands-on experience applying AI in live product environments, working with systems that are actively used and continuously evolving
• Strong background in scalable distributed systems
• Active use of LLMs, agents, or automation in real-world systems
• Comfortable working across the stack, with a solid understanding of modern web architectures
• Experience working in cloud environments (AWS or similar)
• High ownership and execution mindset
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• Fluent English communication

Nice To Haves

• Experience in fintech or digital financial products

Responsibilities

• Lead the evolution of LLM and agent-based architectures
• Design systems for high concurrency (voice, chat, event-driven)
• Improve orchestration, observability, and control layers
• Solve real production challenges: latency, stability, cost
