About The Position

Expression is seeking an experienced AI Engineer specializing in Generative AI to support the continued growth of its Data Science Department. The role involves designing and executing high-impact AI solutions for customer applications in a technical, collaborative environment. The AI Engineer will work independently on complex problems through research and innovation and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, mission-ready solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related discipline.
At least 3 years of experience building and deploying AI/ML models.
At least 1 year of experience developing products or functional prototypes using LLMs and RAG technologies.
Expertise in generative AI frameworks such as GAN, GPT, and LangChain.
Advanced knowledge of prompt engineering techniques for generative models.
Proficiency in Python, Java, or an equivalent language.
Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create design documents, technical reports, and presentations for varied audiences.
Top Secret clearance required.

Nice To Haves

MS or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related discipline.
Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for ML workloads.
Familiarity with data engineering and data management tools and practices.
Experience with short-release cycles and the full software lifecycle.
Experience with Agile development methodology (Scrum).

Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy generative AI systems tailored to customer missions.
Develop end-to-end AI solutions, including problem definition, data preparation, model development, performance evaluation, and deployment.
Optimize model and system performance through iterative improvements.
Collaborate with Program Managers, Subject Matter Experts, Architects, Product Designers, and Data Scientists to translate customer needs into scalable, mission-ready AI solutions.
Conduct research and create prototypes to explore emerging AI technologies and innovative applications.
Demonstrate excellence in Data Science and AI engineering, mentor junior colleagues, and foster innovation.
