About The Position

The Trudell Medical Group of Companies aims to provide patients worldwide with medical devices and services that improve their lives, manufacturing and globally marketing leading brands in respiratory care. Trudell Medical Limited, the Corporate entity, operates from London, Ontario, Canada. This role is for an AI Engineer located in St. John's, Newfoundland, and is an office-based, full-time onsite position. The successful candidate will be a person of integrity, respectful, continuously improving systems, accountable, and thrive in a team environment, open to learning, adaptable, and driven to achieve shared objectives. They should be able to manage requirements elicitation with various stakeholders and handle a workload involving concurrent initiatives. As an AI Engineer, the role involves developing and maintaining AI and machine learning applications, collaborating with senior engineers to refine models, develop applications, ensure data integrity, and optimize pipelines. The engineer will be responsible for coding, researching, and implementing solutions to business problems.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of professional experience in AI/Software Engineering projects
• Proficiency with REACT, Javascript, Python, NodeJS or GO
• Experience with AWS and cloud-based services
• Experience working with LLMS
• Familiarity with SQL databases
• Using AI tools such as Cursor or Claude Code
• Understand basic DevOps practices, CI/CD and version control (Git)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrate analytical ability
• Great problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Implement enterprise software for our operating companies under the guidance of the Director of Software Engineering
• Build and maintain data ingestion and preprocessing pipelines
• Identify relevant features and engineer new features to improve AI software performance
• Work alongside product teams, data scientists, and software engineers to align with business requirements
• Maintain clear documentation of data sources, architecture and analysis steps
