About The Position

T12 Technologies LLC is seeking an AI Engineer and Solutions Architect for a six-month engagement to develop an accounts payable automation system for a commercial client. This system will integrate Oracle NetSuite with Anthropic's Claude to process approximately ten thousand invoice emails per month. The core challenge is to automate the extraction, classification, and GL coding of invoices, ensuring all automated decisions are auditable, as the client has had negative experiences with previous vendors. The role requires taking the extraction process from a demo stage to production quality, handling imperfect documents, and establishing a verifiable method for accuracy assessment. The candidate will also run a live pilot in parallel with manual processing and ensure the system is sustainable for the client, who lacks in-house AI capabilities.

Requirements

• Experience with LLM work that has been deployed and supported, not just proof of concept or demo stages.
• Experience integrating Python with a REST API to work with systems not built by you.
• Experience extracting documents at production quality (invoices, forms, claims, contracts), even if semi-structured and imperfect.
• A method to check if the output is correct, with criteria for determining genuine improvement.
• Legal permission to work in the United States as an independent contractor.
• Ability to travel to Houston for a mandatory kickoff week and an additional 3-5 days around the pilot and go-live.
• Ability to travel at short notice.
• Willingness to have references contacted and credentials verified.
• Ability to provide a link to something actually built (repository, evaluation report, design document, write-up) with sensitive information redacted.
• Ability to provide a resume or profile with two references from completed work.
• Ability to state total hourly pay rate and whether working as a 1099 or through an entity.
• Ability to provide base location and proof of presence in Houston for the specified dates.
• Availability over the next six months.

Nice To Haves

• Specific experience with Anthropic Claude, or Claude via Bedrock.
• Experience integrating with NetSuite or other ERP systems that you did not control.
• Experience with finance or accounting document processing, specifically AP.
• Experience with OCR and document-capture pipelines, especially with low-quality scans.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the extraction process works on actual documents, including scans, duplicates, and invoices lacking critical fields.
• Determine system behavior in cases of uncertainty, including continuation, stopping points, and human observation protocols.
• Verify accuracy by comparing with historical invoices in a manner acceptable to controllers and auditors.
• Run a live pilot for thirty days in parallel with manual processing, making adjustments based on real-world performance.
• Ensure the developed system is sustainable for the client.
• Support the LLM work that has been deployed.
• Integrate Python with a REST API to work with external systems.
• Extract documents at production quality, regardless of their semi-structured or imperfect nature.
• Develop a method to check output correctness and establish criteria for genuine improvement.
