About The Position

Atkore is seeking an AI DevOps Engineer to support its newly established AI team as part of the Enterprise Architecture, Data Services and Automation (RPA/AI) team. The team works across business and IT to turn Atkore’s strategy into scalable platforms, delivering secure and resilient integration and automation across processes, applications, and data. The role is based in the Mokena, Illinois or Dallas, Texas office and reports to the Director of IT Enterprise Architecture, Data Services and Automation (RPA/AI). The AI DevOps Engineer designs, builds, and operates foundational infrastructure for Atkore’s enterprise AI capabilities, enabling scalable, secure, and compliant AI agent development and integration across business, manufacturing, and corporate platforms. The position partners with Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, Data Services, and application delivery teams to ensure AI platforms are reliable, governed, and aligned with Atkore IT standards. The role designs, deploys, and maintains cloud and hybrid infrastructure for AI workloads, including container orchestration, GPU-enabled compute, and data platform integration. It engineers environments for AI agent execution, model serving, and experimentation; designs and manages APIs and microservices for controlled data access; integrates AI infrastructure with enterprise platforms; and implements CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, automation, and MLOps practices. It also supports security, privacy, data governance, identity and access management, and auditability across AI platforms. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship. Requirements

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
Expertise in containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, preferably Azure, including networking, compute, and identity services.
Experience supporting AI/ML infrastructure platforms, such as Azure ML Studio or Mflow.
Strong understanding of enterprise security principles, identity management, and secure API design.
Familiarity with data platforms and analytics ecosystems that support structured and unstructured enterprise data.
Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle and Agile delivery processes.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and maintain cloud and hybrid infrastructure for AI workloads, including container orchestration, GPU-enabled compute, and data platform integration.
Engineer scalable, resilient environments for enterprise AI agent execution, model serving, and experimentation.
Design and manage APIs and microservices that provide secure, controlled data access for AI agents and AI-enabled applications.
Integrate AI infrastructure with data lakes, analytics environments, and business systems.
Implement CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automation to support AI platform reliability and repeatability.
Establish MLOps practices for model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management with data and AI teams.
Ensure AI infrastructure complies with Atkore security, privacy, and data governance standards.
Collaborate with cybersecurity and risk teams to enforce secure identity, access management, and auditability across AI platforms.
Partner with Enterprise Architecture to align AI platform design with long-term technology standards and roadmaps.
Work with Data Engineering, Application Integration, and other IT teams to enable AI use cases across Atkore operations.
Help define AI infrastructure guardrails, deploy the initial AI platform foundation, implement DevOps and CI/CD patterns, and support initial AI use cases and pilots.
Expand AI infrastructure for concurrent workloads, develop secure API and data access patterns, standardize infrastructure-as-code and automation, and establish MLOps and platform monitoring practices.
