Sr. AI Developer
About The Position
As an AI Developer, you'll design and build AI-powered solutions that improve how software is developed, tested, and delivered across XiFin. You'll work closely with Engineering, QA, and DevOps to develop intelligent tools, automate engineering workflows, and evaluate emerging AI technologies that enhance developer productivity. This is a hands-on software engineering role for someone who enjoys building production-ready solutions, experimenting with new technologies, and solving complex technical challenges. This position will be located at our offices in San Diego, CA. This position is not eligible for employment sponsorship now or in the future. Applicants must have current and ongoing authorization to work in the United States.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4–7+ years of software engineering experience, depending on level.
- Strong Python development experience; Java and/or C# experience preferred.
- Experience building applications using Large Language Models (LLMs), generative AI, or agentic AI workflows.
- Experience with AI platforms such as AWS Bedrock, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or similar technologies.
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright or similar tools.
- Understanding of prompt engineering, LLM evaluation, regression testing, and AI system monitoring.
Nice To Haves
- Experience developing internal engineering tools or developer platforms is a plus.
- Experience with RAG, vector databases, or AI knowledge management technologies is preferred.
- Healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industry experience is beneficial but not required.
Responsibilities
- Develop AI-powered applications, agents, and automation that improve software development workflows.
- Build and enhance intelligent testing solutions that integrate with CI/CD pipelines and improve software quality.
- Design, implement, and support AI-assisted developer tools using technologies such as Claude Code and AWS Bedrock.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and prototype new capabilities that improve engineering productivity.
- Develop scalable services, APIs, and platform components that support engineering teams across the organization.
- Partner with Software Engineering, QA, and DevOps to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Monitor solution performance and continuously optimize AI systems for reliability, accuracy, and scalability.
