About The Position

The AI Lab at Autodesk is a small but mighty team that prototypes, experiments, and develops AI capabilities across our Media & Entertainment (M&E) product portfolio. This includes building new AI features as well as connecting existing AI capabilities to our current products. We’re looking for an ambitious, curious, and practical junior developer who is eager to learn and grow quickly in the applied AI space. You’ll work closely with experienced team members and get the chance to make real impact in a fast-moving experimental environment. We use modern AI coding tools (such as Cursor, Claude, or similar) to accelerate planning, implementation, debugging, and documentation—but you’ll learn to own the quality, security, and correctness of the work you deliver.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
Some hands-on experience (through internships, personal projects, coursework, or work) building software applications
Familiarity with Python, TypeScript, or Java—or a strong willingness and ability to learn quickly
Solid understanding of basic software engineering principles: testing, code quality, debugging, and security

Nice To Haves

Any experience or personal projects with AI/ML, LLMs, RAG, or simple agents
Interest or background in Media & Entertainment, video production, creative tools, or related domains
Exposure to cloud platforms or modern ML/agent frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, LangGraph, CrewAI)
Experience using AI coding assistants (such as Cursor or Claude)
Contributions to open-source projects or personal AI experiments

Responsibilities

Help prototype, build, and ship AI-powered features and applications for Autodesk’s Media & Entertainment products with an emphasis toward cloud based software and services
Assist with fine-tuning, evaluating, and integrating large language models into our workflows
Contribute to evaluation practices, testing, monitoring, and feedback loops for AI systems
Support the integration of AI agents with internal and external services using MCP or similar tool/context integration patterns
Collaborate with product managers, developers, designers, and data scientists to bring new AI capabilities into Autodesk’s M&E portfolio of products
Experiment with connecting existing AI technologies to our current product suite with an intent to turn experiments into commercial product
Use AI coding assistants to speed up development while maintaining strong attention to testing, code quality, and security
