Senior AI Design Engineer @ Klarity (Full time)

AcademySan Francisco, CA
Onsite

About The Position

Digital Transformation gave rise to a $600B consulting industry. AI Transformation will be 10x bigger — and will be delivered through agents. Klarity built that. Our AI discovers how work actually happens across every team and application, structures it into a living Context Graph, and improves it continuously. OpenAI, Google, DoorDash, and Stripe use Klarity to transform how they transform. We're looking for an AI Design Engineer who sits at the intersection of product design and frontend engineering — a designer first, with the technical skills and AI tools to bring designs to life in production code. You'll define and build the look and feel of AI-native workflows, making complex enterprise tools feel as intuitive as the best consumer apps. We care about your design portfolio, systems thinking, and track record of shipping — not your degree.

Requirements

  • Designer first, engineer by growth: A product designer with a strong visual and interaction foundation.
  • You've designed complex software products and learned to code — or are learning — because you want to ship your designs without waiting on a backlog.
  • Expert in design tools and systems thinking: Figma, design systems, component libraries, and interaction patterns are second nature.
  • You think in systems — understanding how individual components combine into cohesive experiences at scale.
  • AI-native designer who builds in code: You use AI coding assistants like Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Replit etc to rapidly translate concepts into working, near-production-grade prototypes.
  • You obsess over micro-interactions, transitions, spacing, color, and accessibility.
  • Shipped AI-native features to production: You understand the unique challenges of building with LLMs — designing for non-determinism, creating delightful experiences around unpredictable outputs, and innovating UX patterns that make cutting-edge AI feel intuitive.
  • User-centered, outcome-driven: You ground design decisions in research and real feedback, own the end-to-end experience from sketch to ship, and advocate for users while balancing business and technical constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Own primary user-facing features — from visual language and interaction patterns to shipping to production
  • Build and evolve the design system — reusable component libraries that work in both Figma and in code
  • Bridge AI capabilities with intuitive experiences — translate complex technical possibilities into delightful, simple interfaces

Benefits

  • Equity + competitive cash compensation
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental & vision
  • Paid parental leave
  • $500 annual learning fund
  • $100/month wellness fund
  • 401k via Betterment
  • Relocation support to SF Bay Area
  • Pre-tax BART / Caltrain transit account
  • Daily curated lunches in the office
  • Onsite gym access
  • Snacks and drinks on-site
  • Secure bike storage
