AI Deployment Strategist

TransformworksNew York, NY

About The Position

Transformworks is an AI implementation partner to the world’s most ambitious investors and operators. We work with companies in critical, operationally complex industries, including healthcare, education, and financial services. Our work includes: Helping an education organization scale the development of high-quality curriculum across thousands of schools in the U.S. Automating paperwork and documentation for a healthcare services company supporting more than 2 million patients, freeing its teams to spend more time helping the people they serve We are profitable, growing quickly, and intentionally lean. We believe AI has fundamentally changed what one exceptional engineer with strong business judgment can accomplish, so we keep teams small, give people real ownership, and reward them based on the value they create. As an AI Deployment Strategist, you will be accountable for the success of our client engagements. You will serve as the primary day-to-day partner to client executives and operators while leading a team of Forward Deployed AI Engineers through discovery, development, deployment, and adoption. You will determine what we should build, keep execution moving, and ensure the work produces a measurable business outcome. The best way to think about this role is as a more technical and product-oriented version of an engagement manager. You will combine structured problem-solving, product judgment, program leadership, and client relationship management. You will not be expected to write production code, but you must be technically fluent enough to work closely with engineers, understand tradeoffs, and help shape effective AI products. Your job is not simply to deliver the scope. It is to make the client successful, find ways to exceed expectations, and continually identify where else AI can create value across the business.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in management consulting, product management, enterprise implementation, client services, or a similarly demanding operating role
  • Experience leading complex, high-stakes projects with multiple stakeholders and an ambiguous path forward
  • Strong product judgment and the ability to distinguish an interesting idea from something users will adopt and a business will value
  • Structured problem-solving skills and the ability to turn a messy situation into a clear set of priorities and actions
  • Executive-level communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The confidence to challenge clients constructively, surface difficult issues, and be candid about tradeoffs
  • Enough technical fluency to understand system architecture, data flows, APIs, model behavior, and AI evaluation at a practical level
  • Strong commercial instincts and an ability to identify additional ways we can create value for a client
  • A high degree of ownership. You do not wait for someone else to resolve a problem that could affect the engagement
  • Comfort managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high bar for detail and follow-through
  • Genuine curiosity about how AI can change the way businesses operate
  • You do not need to be an engineer or an AI expert on day one. You do need to learn quickly, work naturally with technical teams, and be willing to develop a real understanding of the systems we build.
