About The Position

We are seeking a strategic AI Business Process Engineer to serve as the critical link between advanced AI development and clinical operational reality. Unlike a traditional technical engineering role, this position focuses on workflow transformation and operational readiness. You will be responsible for ensuring that AI solutions are effectively integrated into reimagined human workflows rather than simply being deployed as standalone tools. You will partner closely with AI Product Managers and Delivery Engineers to diagnose current inefficiencies, design "Human-in-the-Loop" future states, and ensure that our AI initiatives drive tangible business value and sustainable adoption.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Business Process Engineering, Operations Strategy, or Clinical Transformation.
• Expert-level proficiency in process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, BPMN standards).
• Demonstrated understanding of how AI/ML solutions impact business operations; ability to distinguish between software functionality and human process requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to navigate between technical and non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or Agile methodologies.

Nice To Haves

• Experience within the healthcare sector (Provider, Payer, or Health Tech) is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR workflows (e.g., Epic, Cerner) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead deep-dive discovery sessions with clinical staff, operations leaders, and administrative personnel to map comprehensive current-state workflows.
• Identify bottlenecks, redundancies, and non-value-added activities to ensure AI is applied to optimize processes, not merely to automate inefficiencies.
• Develop detailed user journey maps that highlight decision points, data entry requirements, and user pain points.
• Design future-state operational workflows that accommodate new AI capabilities, defining exactly how human roles will interact with AI outputs.
• Develop protocols for "Human-in-the-Loop" scenarios, including exception handling, review queues, and validation steps for AI-generated content (e.g., clinical notes or risk predictions).
• Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) that bridge the gap between algorithmic predictions and human decision-making.
• Act as the primary translator between technical teams (Engineering/Data Science) and business stakeholders, ensuring technical specifications align with operational realities.
• Define success metrics beyond model accuracy, focusing on workflow efficiency, user adoption rates, and reduction in administrative burden.
• Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with a focus on process validation, ensuring the solution fits seamlessly into the end-user’s daily environment.
