About The Position

The AI / Automation Engineer II is a skilled automation practitioner who independently designs and delivers secure, supportable business automations and solutions. This role delivers solutions using UiPath, Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Copilot Studio, and other approved automation and productivity technologies, ensuring solutions are maintainable, reusable, and aligned with Bank standards. Engineer II leads solution-level design for assigned initiatives, mentors AI Automation Engineer I, and partners with stakeholders to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 3+ years of experience using and/or supporting information technology systems
  • 3+ years of experience using and/or supporting financial services systems
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge or experience with databases including SQL queries strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead solution‑level design and implementation for assigned initiatives, following established patterns and security guardrails.
  • Develop UiPath automations with robust exception handling, logging, and operational supportability.
  • Build Power Apps and Power Automate solutions using approved environments and connectors.
  • Deliver SharePoint solution components including information architecture, site creation from approved templates, metadata strategy, and site‑level permissions within guardrails.
  • Implement AI‑enabled automation using Microsoft Copilot Studio and UiPath AI capabilities where appropriate.
  • Implement integrations using approved connectors, APIs, or orchestration patterns in coordination with platform teams.
  • Create reusable components, templates, and patterns for SharePoint, Power Platform, and UiPath solutions.
  • Conduct peer reviews and provide coaching and mentorship to AI Automation Engineer I team members.
  • Apply strong testing discipline and ensure production readiness prior to release.
  • Contribute to and apply established standards and recommend improvements through governance processes.
  • Produce high‑quality documentation suitable for support handoff.
  • Lead requirements workshops and translate business needs into functional and technical designs.
  • Provide effort estimates, identify dependencies, and proactively raise risks or constraints.
  • Support training and adoption efforts for delivered solutions.
  • Embed security‑by‑design practices into all solutions.
  • Ensure solutions comply with established governance controls and change management processes.
  • Support audits and evidence requests through clear documentation and solution traceability.
  • Provide an outstanding customer service experience for team members and customers.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with team members, leaders, customers, and vendors.
  • Prompt and reliable attendance is essential in order to provide expected levels of service.
  • Must comply with all Gate City Bank policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Must be detail-oriented and maintain high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
