About The Position

Coretek is at the forefront of innovation, providing a broad range of AI, Security, and Managed Services designed to help businesses improve operational efficiency and drive growth. We are seeking AI & Automation Interns who are passionate about artificial intelligence, automation, and applying emerging technologies to real-world business challenges. Coretek’s AI & Automation Intern Program places interns on a team that applies AI, alongside automation, to build solutions used by employees across the business. Interns work directly with the teams who will use each solution to understand their needs, optimize workflows and operational processes, and apply AI models, automation technologies, and other tools to solve real business problems. Projects are refined through hands-on testing, feedback, and iteration until solutions are stable, reliable, and capable of operating independently. This role provides hands-on experience across the Microsoft AI and automation ecosystem, including Azure AI, Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Power BI, Microsoft Teams, and Salesforce, while giving interns exposure to the full lifecycle of developing and deploying AI-powered business solutions in a consulting environment.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Business Administration (Technology & Operations), Information Systems, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of AI concepts and frameworks (e.g., large language models, Azure AI, Copilot Studio).
• Comfortable working through ambiguity, developing a solution iteratively as requirements and constraints become clearer.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, particularly when working with financial, sales, or client-facing data.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams with varying technical backgrounds.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to own a project from prototype through testing, documentation, and deployment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to automation platforms (e.g., Power Automate, UiPath, Automation Anywhere), Microsoft Cloud (e.g., Azure, Copilot Studio), or programming languages such as Python, C#, or Java is a plus.
• Power usage of coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) is a plus.
• Interns who succeed in this role treat measurable impact, such as time or effort saved, as a core part of the solution design, not an afterthought. They work persistently through the iteration required to improve AI accuracy, and document their work thoroughly enough that it remains useful after their internship ends.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders across different departments to identify processes suited to automation and scope solutions around their needs.
• Design, build, and refine automation and AI-agent solutions, progressing from an initial prototype to a stable, deployable solution.
• Apply AI techniques, such as generative AI models, prompt design, and conversational agents, to automate and improve business processes.
• Test and validate solutions against real data and edge cases, addressing inaccuracies in AI output before deployment.
• Communicate technical work to non-technical stakeholders, including estimating and reporting the time or effort a solution saves.
• Document workflows, architecture, and design decisions clearly enough for others to maintain, extend, or take over the solution.
• Collaborate with other interns and team members to share ideas and troubleshoot challenges in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Research emerging AI and automation technologies and share relevant findings with the team.
