About The Position

Amadeus is seeking an AI Assistant Product Manager to lead the discovery, shaping, and incubation of product propositions for AI Assistant platforms. This role involves understanding traveler and AI platform needs, identifying Amadeus's unique value proposition, and validating opportunities through experimentation. The Product Manager will bridge external AI Assistant ecosystems with internal Amadeus business units (Universal Distribution, Hospitality, Payments) and partners to create compelling, end-to-end travel experiences. A key aspect of this role is AI fluency, requiring an understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), their capabilities and limitations, and how to leverage AI tools for prototyping, analysis, and content generation. The ideal candidate will be a power user of AI tools in their daily work, integrating AI fluency as a core working method.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in product roles with significant time in discovery-heavy, early-stage incubation, or platform/ecosystem environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn qualitative and quantitative research into successful new product concepts or MVPs, ideally in fast-evolving markets.
  • Strong skills in user research (interviews, usability tests, concept testing) and comfort synthesizing insights into clear narratives under ambiguity.
  • Experience designing and running product experiments, including hypothesis definition, metric selection, and analysis.
  • Track record of working across organizational boundaries, influencing without authority and aligning multiple business units or partners around a shared direction.
  • Excellent storytelling, visual communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfort operating in a space where the landscape evolves rapidly and the right answer is discovered, not prescribed.
  • AI fluency: understanding of LLMs, how they reason, where they excel/fail, and how context, prompting, and tool integration shape user experience.
  • Power user of AI tools in daily work: using rapid prototyping platforms, AI research tools, and structured prompts for AI coding/design tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AI/ML products, conversational interfaces, or platform/API businesses.
  • Background in travel, hospitality, or marketplace/platform ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with AI Assistant platforms (integration models, developer tools, plugin/skill architectures).
  • Background in UX, service design, behavioral science, or similar human-centered disciplines.
  • Hands-on familiarity with analytics and research tooling.
  • Experience in innovation labs, venture studios, or incubation and product-launch programs taking concepts from idea to first market release.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and understand the AI Assistant landscape, platform strategies, developer ecosystems, integration models, and competitive dynamics to identify actionable opportunities.
  • Conduct continuous discovery with travelers, travel sellers, and AI platform teams to understand emerging needs at the intersection of travel and conversational AI.
  • Map the end-to-end traveler journey through AI Assistants to identify areas where Amadeus can deliver distinctive experiences.
  • Translate research into opportunity maps, problem statements, and prioritized hypotheses.
  • Design and execute lean experiments (prototypes, integration pilots, fake-door tests, MLPs) to validate assumptions quickly and cost-effectively.
  • Define success metrics for experiments and use them to make product decisions.
  • Collaborate with engineers and data specialists to scope and ship learning-focused MLPs with appropriate telemetry and analytics.
  • Partner with designers to craft delightful, end-to-end, multi-modal travel experiences.
  • Define the vision for 'great' AI-assisted travel experiences across the entire journey (inspiration, planning, booking, in-trip, post-trip).
  • Develop and refine a clear product vision and narrative for AI-assisted travel, aligned with Amadeus strategy.
  • Collaborate with Amadeus business units (Universal Distribution, Hospitality, Payments) to identify and assemble necessary capabilities, content, and APIs.
  • Engage with external partners, data providers, and content aggregators to enrich travel experiences.
  • Navigate partnership dynamics with AI platform teams, understanding their incentives and integration requirements.
  • Facilitate regular readouts and decision forums with leadership, communicating insights, competitive intelligence, risks, and recommendations.
  • Champion a culture of experimentation and customer-centricity.
  • Build shared conviction among stakeholders through demonstrated momentum and a credible long-term vision.
