AI Architect / Technical Lead - AWS / React
About The Position
The AI Architect / Technical Lead will lead the architecture, design, and hands-on implementation of a next-generation cloud-native intelligent call routing platform built on AWS. The platform will use communications services, AI-powered decisioning, and Conversational AI to connect customers with appropriate agents based on skills, business priorities, customer attributes, and real-time operational conditions. The role combines architecture expertise, hands-on development, and direct engagement with clients, business stakeholders, and engineering teams. It is remote within the United States and requires 25–30% travel. The position is part of Perficient’s App Modernization team, which helps businesses transform legacy systems and build future-ready applications through cloud migration, custom application development, multi-cloud strategies, modern UI and API integration, DevSecOps, modern frameworks, and enterprise platforms. The team also integrates AI-driven capabilities such as intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and generative development tools.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering, architecture, and enterprise application development experience.
- 5+ years designing and implementing AWS solutions.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Node.js, Python, React, and API development.
- Proven experience with TaskRouter, Voice APIs, Studio, and programmable contact center platforms.
- Experience implementing AI/ML, Conversational AI, or Generative AI solutions.
- Deep understanding of cloud-native, microservices, serverless, API-led, and event-driven architectures.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and technical leadership skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
- Experience working with a globally distributed team and managing offshore teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Must be open to travel.

Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of cloud-native intelligent routing solutions.
- Define API, integration, and event-driven architecture patterns.
- Provide hands-on development using Node.js, Python, React, and microservices technologies.
- Architect and implement AWS solutions using Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, EventBridge, Step Functions, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, RDS, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Design Conversational AI and intelligent routing solutions using TaskRouter, Voice APIs, and programmable communications platforms.
- Conduct architecture reviews, mentor engineering teams, and build proofs of concept.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and lead technical workshops.
- Work with globally distributed teams and manage offshore teams.
