About The Position

Capgemini Engineering is seeking an AI Architect/Developer who bridges AI strategy and production-grade implementation. The role designs scalable AI ecosystems, selects appropriate model architectures, and contributes directly to custom AI solutions, pipelines, and integrations. It is a hybrid position located in Long Beach, California. The AI Architect/Developer translates business requirements into robust, high-performance AI architectural blueprints; writes clean, modular, maintainable production code; and tunes, quantizes, and prunes models to meet performance thresholds. The role also leads development work, mentors junior staff, promotes code quality and model security, and works within an Agile/Scrum framework with frequent delivery milestones. Comprehensive architecture documentation and strict adherence to data privacy standards and secure AI development practices are expected.

Requirements

  • Ability to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, high-performance AI platforms.
  • Ability to evaluate and select LLMs, SLMs, or traditional ML models based on latency, cost, and accuracy requirements.
  • Expertise integrating AI services with enterprise software ecosystems, including security, compliance, and data governance frameworks.
  • Proficiency with Python-based frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, or LlamaIndex.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD for AI, model versioning, and monitoring tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, or Weights & Biases.
  • Strong background in RESTful API development using tools such as FastAPI or Flask, and data pipeline architecture using tools such as Apache Airflow, Kafka, or Spark.
  • Deep understanding of neural network and transformer architecture principles.
  • Ability to interpret and optimize model performance using formulas related to loss functions and optimization.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, and familiarity with C++ or Go for high-performance components.
  • Expertise in containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Milvus, or Weaviate, and traditional RDBMS/NoSQL databases.
