About The Position

EY is hiring an AI and Distributed Systems Backend Engineer at the Manager level for its Platforms Practice. The practice builds mission-critical, intelligent platforms using a product-driven, AI-centric approach. Software engineers work across technology areas to deliver product and platform outcomes for clients. As a Manager in Application Design and Development, you will manage and deliver processes, solutions, and projects, with a focus on quality and risk management. You will work with external clients, participate in working sessions, and lead workstreams from planning through execution and closure. You will identify and define user and customer requirements, contribute to development services aligned with business needs, and guide team members toward successful task completion. Travel may be required as needed by external clients. The role involves solving complex technical problems, contributing to design and architecture decisions, and delivering high-quality software in an Agile/Scrum environment. You will write maintainable code and conduct peer code reviews. The position requires technical expertise, sound judgment, communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to lead teams and recommend quality solutions. The role is open to candidates anywhere in the country. EY uses a team-led, leader-enabled hybrid model; most people in external client-serving roles are expected to work together in person 40–60% of the time over an engagement, project, or year.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (four-year degree) required.
Typically, at least 4–6 years of relevant experience.
At least 4 years of experience with Java or C#.
At least 4 years of experience with Spring Boot, .NET, or .NET Core.
Proficient in Agile delivery and development methodologies.
Experience with application delivery processes and application development tools.
Strong understanding of quality assurance and testing practices.
Knowledge of the system development lifecycle and technology integration.
Solid grounding in computer science fundamentals.
Experience with unit testing or test-driven development (TDD).
Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team player with staff at all levels.
Self-directed, quick learner across languages and technologies.
Analytical problem-solving ability.
