About The Position

GDIT is offering a Summer Internship Program for 2027 focused on Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning. This 10-week program is designed to provide interns with hands-on experience working alongside GDIT professionals on challenging client matters. Interns will collaborate with a team to research and propose solutions, participate in a mentoring circle, interact with GDIT leaders, and engage in professional development activities. The program offers opportunities to apply statistical techniques to customer data for decision-making and user experience enhancement, build machine learning algorithms, and work on AI system deployments. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of computer languages for system functionality.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an associate's, bachelor's or master's degree program in computer science, IT, engineering, or other STEM field from a United States-based college or university.
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, and Teams).
Problem solving and interest in big data.
Interest in data transformation, model selection, cross-validation, and deployment.
Knowledge of statistical techniques.
Knowledge of Python or other programming languages.
Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
Intuitiveness with an ability to identify and solve complex problems related to rapidly changing technology.
Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
Applicants should have a minimum of one semester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes.
