About The Position

Responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of all American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center components and continuing education related training.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in education, community development, or related field and relevant experience in program development, community outreach, and adult education.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented, able to multi-task, be flexible, meet deadlines, and able to produce a large amount of quality work in a timely manner.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must possess a high degree of diplomacy and the ability to work with a wide variety of people.
  • This role requires the ability to safely lift and move items up to 50 pounds as part of preparing and transporting equipment for training sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the coordinator of the American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center (primary contact for AHA) and perform all responsibilities as outlined in the AHA Program Administration Manual (PAM).
  • Maintain and order/restock inventories of material and equipment related to LTC, AHA, and EMS continuing education program areas.
  • Identify, interview and secure potential instructors and program associates based on regulatory standards for the AHA Training Center.
  • Maintain a working relationship with instructor groups, advisory/planning committees, local facilities, agencies, organizations, and state agencies.
  • Implement, facilitate, and organize instructional materials, textbooks, and methods for all AHA courses.
  • Develop/maintain rapport and provide customer service to students and staff. Utilize problem solving knowledge and skills to identify and resolve potential and unexpected issues.
  • Monitor/evaluate AHA instructors by use of classroom observation and management of written student evaluations.
  • Orient instructors and program associates to acceptable classroom observation and management of written student evaluations.
  • Schedule facilities, food, materials, and other special needs for assigned programs.
  • Secure, organize, and maintain data related to AHA courses including sections, payroll, course files, state reports, records, and other course related data.
  • Work collaboratively with Health Program Managers and SIM Lab staff to provide support in all aspects of their work as needed.
  • Supply budget information related to program pricing, needed equipment, and supplies for AHA Training Center.
  • Develop promotional materials related to assigned areas and initiate routine mailings.
  • Participate in the identification, development, implementation, and evaluation of process improvements for the AHA Training Center.
  • Maintain records for course compliance with regulatory agencies. Facilitate usage of electronic course file process.
  • Prepare for all Training Center reviews with AHA Account Manager, course monitoring with Regional Faculty, and submit reports as required to the ECC Committee.
  • Participate and maintain professional knowledge and growth.
  • Serve on NIACC committees as appropriate.
  • Support NIACC Continuing Education staff, activities, and services outside assigned area(s).
  • Communicate with students, instructors and staff, keeping all parties informed of updates and news that relate to the training center.
  • Order AHA Provider and Instructor e-Cards.
  • Work with businesses to program AHA classes on site and at NIACC.
  • Maintain strong organizational skills, demonstrate reliability, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Fulfill other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
  • Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.
