About The Position

V2X GTS has a requirement for an Instructor /Operator (IO) in support of the Kuwait Air Force (KAF) in Kuwait City, Kuwait (Ali Al Salem Air Base). The IP provides Instructor & Operator (I/O) support, services and TADSS oversight required under W-TRS TDL 025 and reports directly to the in-country V2X-GTS Program Manager. The successful candidate must be a United States citizen, with proof of citizenship and a current U.S. passport. Standard work week is five (5) days per week for up to eight (8) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s).

Requirements

  • Prior AH‑64D/E Instructor Pilot (IP) experience at company level or higher.
  • Trained and certified aviation educator with demonstrated AH‑64D/E instructional experience.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Army Aircrew Training Manuals, aviation publications, and regulations.
  • Experience conducting simulator‑based training, evaluations, and check rides.
  • Proficiency in instrument flight, mission planning, emergency procedures, NVG operations, and tactical employment.
  • Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • High School Graduate required u2013 associate or bachelor's Degree desired.
  • Graduate of the U.S. Army AH-64D/E Instructor Pilot and Methods of Instruction course.
  • 5+ years as an aviator required with last AH-64D/E flight within the last 12 months. (Currency or refresher training may be provided as needed).
  • AH-64Ev6 qualification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1000 hours as pilot in the AH-64D/E.
  • Minimum of 250 hours as Instructor Pilot in the AH-64D/E.
  • Fundamentally computer literate to include (but not limited to) using a personal computer, performing word processing, performing database input, access electronic publications, accessing the world wide web, briefing and debriefing software, and filling out electronic forms and grade sheets.
  • Ability to support periodic travel.
  • Must be familiar with the operation of a military flight training base.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and lift a maximum of 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience supporting Foreign Military Sales (FMS) or working with host‑nation air forces.
  • Prior experience in Kuwait, the CENTCOM AOR, or similar overseas operating environments.
  • Experience developing SOPs, courseware, and POIs for aviation training.
  • Familiarity with FAA Order 7110.65 and ATC procedures as applied to simulator training.
  • Prior TADSS, simulator maintenance oversight, or device acceptance/validation experience.
  • AH-64Ev6 qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Instructor/Operator (IO) support, services, and oversight for all KAF TADSS related to AH‑64D/E training.
  • Deliver advanced AH‑64D/E flight instruction in accordance with the U.S. Army Aircrew Training Manual (ATM).
  • Instruct and evaluate Kuwaiti and U.S. student pilots in classroom, simulator, and (as applicable) in‑flight environments.
  • Conduct pre‑flight briefs, in‑flight instruction, post‑flight debriefs, and After Action Reviews (AARs).
  • Conduct end‑of‑stage check rides and evaluations IAW applicable ATMs and aviation regulations.
  • Train pilots in aircraft systems, instrument flight, mission scenarios, flight management system operation, emergency procedures, terrain flight, tactics, and gunnery.
  • Develop and run simulator scenarios including instrument flight, mission profiles, emergency procedures, fault insertion, ATC services, and weather control.
  • Provide day, night, and NVG instruction IAW Aircrew Training Manuals and FAA Order 7110.65 (terminal, en‑route, approach, and departure control services).
  • Determine training objectives, scope, and evaluation criteria; ensure training meets U.S. Army and host‑nation standards.
  • Check in scheduled aircrews; configure simulators with requested mission scenarios, weather, and current flight planning data.
  • Ensure aircrews have required operational publications, forms, checklists, and flight planning materials.
  • Remain available throughout training events to monitor performance, answer questions, and provide immediate instruction.
  • Review and critique pilot flight planning for accuracy; provide corrective guidance and instruction.
  • Conduct debriefs and grading in accordance with the ATM; document performance and comments in Individual Aircrew Training Folders (IATF).
  • Prepare simulator flight‑hour utilization and scheduling reports; support efficient use of training devices.
  • Support host‑nation briefings, demonstrations, and VIP visits involving simulators and TADSS.
  • Develop, update, and deliver tutorials, courseware, and Programs of Instruction (POIs) for military and civilian subjects in English.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for aircrew training manuals, aviation procedures, and simulator employment; remain current on all applicable publications and regulations.
  • Recommend updates and improvements to courses, SOPs, and training materials to enhance effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain a flight simulator training Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) covering qualifications, responsibilities, and procedures.
  • Assist with maintenance and serviceability assessments of all TADSS weapon simulation equipment; support troubleshooting within contract scope.
  • Conduct pre‑flight and post‑flight simulator inspections, operational readiness checks, and simulator maintenance test flights.
  • Safeguard government and company property, materials, and facilities; ensure proper handling and accountability.
  • Coordinate with host‑nation / FMS representatives to deconflict training and maintenance schedules and resolve device or site issues.
  • Coordinate annual services for LCT HVAC and generator systems; document results IAW vendor/OEM manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with contract standards, specifications, and Quality Control (QC) requirements.
  • Provide professional, timely customer assistance and technical advice to a diverse, multi‑national customer base.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with U.S., host‑nation, and contractor personnel.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the V2X Program Manager in support of mission requirements.
