About The Position

The Premier Ag Agronomy Sales Internship is the final step in positioning a second- or third-year intern into an Account Manager Associate role upon graduation. The successful candidate has already demonstrated the professionalism, initiative, and problem-solving skills necessary to work independently with growers to design and implement crop plans. The objectives of this internship are to attract top talent to Premier Ag, assess the intern's potential for a full-time Account Manager role upon graduation, and provide challenging, professional, and technical skill development, allowing the intern to apply their knowledge and technical expertise in a real-life environment.

Requirements

  • Second- or third-year student in an agronomy-related program.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with growers.
  • Ability to design and implement crop plans.
  • Willingness to train for and perform operations tasks.
  • Familiarity with FieldAlytics software is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with pesticide or nutrient application recommendations.
  • Experience developing sales call plans.
  • Experience with field scouting and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

  • Make initial introductions to assigned grower accounts and corresponding Premier Ag Account Manager to describe the working relationship with growers throughout the summer.
  • Monitor crops throughout the growing season using available tools, resources, and Premier Ag staff, and develop and communicate recommendations for pesticide or nutrient applications via independent and unsupervised grower sales calls.
  • Turn in orders to the appropriate operations team for scheduling application or order fulfillment, with grower approval and Account Manager check.
  • Follow up within 7 days after application or order fulfillment to evaluate efficacy and share findings with the grower.
  • Develop a sales call plan for a specific product line on an existing account that is not currently using the product/practice. The sales call is preferred to be accompanied for post-call evaluation.
  • Train for and perform an operation task in a limited branch support role to gain professional and workflow experience.
  • Utilize FieldAlytics software for scouting reports to the grower.
  • Participate in intern agronomy training, tissue sampling, and Crops Development School 2025.
  • Engage in sales projects, including pre-call planning and post-call evaluations.
  • Provide corporate support and perform any other assigned tasks.
