About The Position

Work with the Sales and Agronomy departments to gain an educational experience across multiple facets of agronomy, including agronomy sales, field scouting, agricultural fairs, and customer interactions. The role offers opportunities to learn from industry experts, understand the cooperative system, and contribute ideas to the company’s sustainability mission in agriculture. Interns assist agronomists with growers’ crop protection chemicals, seed, and other agronomy products and services, as well as with field scouting, seed organization and inventory, and reporting.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic math skills.
Ability to work long seasonal hours and in seasonal environments.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and demonstrate good attention to detail.
Ability to provide accurate and consistent work.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Assist agronomists with growers’ crop protection chemicals, seed, and other agronomy products and services.
Conduct field scouting.
Sort seed on pallets and organize and inventory seed.
Complete reporting and promptly inform the supervisor of discrepancies.
Inform the supervisor of potential problems and potential new business opportunities related directly or indirectly to the department.
Report unsafe equipment or working conditions to the supervisor.
Report needed repairs or special maintenance to the supervisor immediately.
Uphold cooperative policies and comply with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
Attend employee safety meetings and other required or scheduled safety activities.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Work collaboratively with location and departmental personnel.
Promote teamwork and consistently reflect the company image.
Present a professional image through words, actions, and personal appearance.
