About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Sales Agronomist to join our small business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agricultural science and a passion for improving crops and sustainability. This role involves collaborating with growers and ag businesses to provide expert advice on crop management, soil health, and sustainable farming practices. The Sales Agronomist main responsibilities are lead generation, conducting product demonstrations, and supporting sales initiatives. We want to strategically grow our business in Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio. Crop Performance specializes in crop nutrition products like liquid fertilizers, micronutrients, foliar products, organic acids, and more.

Requirements

  • A degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in retail sales or technology sales within the agricultural industry.
  • Proven ability in lead generation.
  • Familiarity with direct sales techniques and upselling strategies is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Agronomy: 1 year (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Engage in direct sales activities, including generating new sales leads and upselling products to existing customers.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to increase sales of Crop Performance's product line up.
  • Conduct field trials and research to evaluate crop performance and soil health.
  • Arrange and coordinate various technical and marketing activities, including field days, farmer meetings, demonstration trials and trial sites.
  • Prepare reports on findings from field trials and customer interactions.
  • Provide technical support and consultation to farmers on best practices for crop management.
  • Analyze market trends to identify potential areas for growth.
  • Maintain relationships with clients through regular follow-ups and support.
  • Contribute to company marketing efforts, including new product development, product catalogs, and product marketing material.
