About The Position
Troy High School is seeking a 3rd Agriculture Science Teacher. This is a 226-day contract position. The role includes teaching a diverse curriculum on an 8-period schedule, supervising animal projects, training LDE, CDE, and SDE teams, and attending various FFA events. The position also requires holding or obtaining a bus driving certification (CDL).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Texas Teaching certificate in Agriculture Sciences
Nice To Haves
- Experience in Agricultural Mechanics or Animal Science preferred
Responsibilities
- Teach a diverse curriculum on a 8 period schedule
- Assist students with applications for advanced awards, degrees, and scholarships
- Supervise animal projects for local, county and major shows.
- Willing to work extended hours - including nights and weekends.
- Train LDE, CDE, and SDE teams
- Attend FFA events, conferences, conventions, camps, and shows.
- FFA Advisor
- Hold a bus driving certification (CDL) or willing to obtain
- Other duties as assigned
