Rocky Mountain Youth Corps (RMYC) is a nonprofit youth development organization serving New Mexico. We inspire young adults to make a positive difference in themselves and their communities. Through training and service, Corpsmembers discover their potential for healthy, productive lives. Farm Crew members will work to safely complete agriculture projects at Rocky Mountain Youth Corps’ ½ acre farm plot as well as within the community. The goal for this crew is grow organic fruits and vegetables to be donated to local food banks while engaging in relevant training and education. No prior experience is required, only the desire to work hard and learn about small-scale farming and community food networks. Project work may include seeding, weeding, irrigation activities, harvesting, soil health projects, learning about regenerative agricultural practices, and facilitating community food drop-offs. All participants will receive both personal and professional development training such as First Aid/CPR, Mental Health First Aid, financial management, and public speaking skills.
