Capital Farm Credit•Lubbock, TX
•Onsite

About The Position

Capital Farm Credit's summer internship program provides students with hands-on experience in agricultural finance while working alongside professionals who serve farmers, ranchers, and rural communities across Texas. Interns gain industry experience, build professional connections, and develop skills to prepare for future careers. The intern gains experience in the daily operations of an agricultural lending office, including loan input, analysis, and credit processes. They work alongside loan officers, credit analysts, appraisers, and loan administrators; tour agricultural operations and other Capital Farm Credit offices; and shadow professionals across the organization. Interns develop working knowledge of systems and technology used in agricultural lending and credit operations, build relationships with employees and executive leaders, and develop analytical, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills through projects and daily business activities. The program runs May 26 through August 12, 2027. Interns complete a summer project and present it to members of the executive leadership team during the closing session. Full-time, in-person work is required at the assigned office. Interns must reside within a reasonable commuting distance, have reliable transportation, and attend required in-person program sessions at the headquarters in College Station, Texas. The sessions are orientation (May 26–28, 2027), a mid-summer session tentatively scheduled for the week of July 5, 2027, and the closing session on August 12, 2027. Mileage reimbursement and overnight accommodations may be provided for required program events when applicable. Regular and reliable attendance is essential. Interns should not plan more than three workdays of personal absence during the internship; extended vacations and other significant planned absences are strongly discouraged. Applicants should consider summer commitments and disclose significant pre-planned absences during the interview or offer process. Attendance expectations do not apply to absences protected by applicable law or approved as a reasonable accommodation. Compensation is $18 per hour. Eligible interns who relocate for the internship may receive a $1,500 relocation stipend.
