About The Position

Fondomonte is hiring an Agricultural Engineer to bring technical design and engineering capability to our Maintenance and Engineering team. This role covers irrigation system design, underground pipeline layout, and underground fire suppression infrastructure — applying CAD-based design and field expertise to keep our farm infrastructure efficient, compliant, and built to scale. We're looking for someone with formal technical training — ideally in turfgrass science, agricultural engineering, or civil engineering — and we're prepared to invest in training and mentorship to grow the right candidate into the full scope of the role. A professional license is not required to apply.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Turfgrass Science, Turfgrass/Golf Course Management, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Irrigation/Water Resources, Agronomy, or a related field
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D, or a strong aptitude to learn
Comfortable working both in the field and in an office/CAD setting
Valid driver's license and ability to travel between company farm locations

Nice To Haves

Graduate degree in Turfgrass Science or Turf/Golf Course Management is especially valued — coursework in irrigation hydraulics and pipe design translates directly
Prior agricultural, turf, or golf course industry experience is a plus
No PE or PLS license required; candidates working toward licensure are welcome

Responsibilities

Design and layout irrigation systems (drip, pivot, flood, and micro-irrigation) tailored to crop, soil, and water delivery needs
Plan and design underground pipeline infrastructure, including sizing, routing, and integration with pump stations and water sources
Design underground fire suppression infrastructure, including fire mains and hydrant lines, in accordance with NFPA standards
Produce technical drawings using AutoCAD / Civil 3D, including site plans and as-built documentation
Conduct field data collection — topographic surveys, GPS/GNSS mapping, and site condition assessments
Coordinate with outside licensed land surveyors, civil engineers, and fire protection contractors on any work requiring a professional stamp, license, or recorded filing
Evaluate existing irrigation and drainage infrastructure and support project budgeting and scheduling
